It arrived just as it was pictured
Nice sturdy little strainer, just what I was looking for to replace my ancient screen-like strainer. Nice "feet" keep it a little elevated while draining.
I was expecting it to be a little less “flimsy” but for the price, I love it.1.) aesthetically pleasing2.) large and shallow (best for getting the most thorough washing of fruits or veggies)3.) small holes (but not a grate- cleaning nightmare!) for rinsing grains or pasta4.) legs on bottom- so contents stay sanitary and off the bottom of your sink!
This should fit our needs. It appears to be well made however the perforated metal is really too thin. Ours arrived pre dented. We are keeping it but for the money should have been more heavy duty.
I love to eat fresh blueberries but don’t always eat them fast enough. I’ve had several types of containers stating will keep fruit fresh etc and they don’t. Some fruit will get moldy fast. I can rinse a huge container of fresh blueberries, let them dry somewhat then put them in this small colander which fits in the refrigerator without taking up a lot of room. They will stay fresh for several days. The size is also great if just have some small food vegetables to rinse.
I’ve now gotten a set of these from 2.5 qt up to 6 qt. Sturdy and well made I find them extremely useful for washing rice, straining out fine pasta like angel hair or rice noodles that like to slip through the holes of regular sieves. They’ve also become a favorite for straining solids from stock. The fine mesh catches almost everything on the first pass. Definitely would recommend them for any cooking needs.
