Breville Tamping Mat
This fit on top of my Breville Barista Pro perfectly. It also matched the black color of my unit exactly to where it blends in very nicely and isn't noticeable. The rubber is thick and seems durable, especially for this use case. Because it is a smooth rubber, liquids wipe off easily. My only dislike with it is the back flap that covers the water container. It is cumbersome to have to bend it up and out of the way when you need to pull the water jug out to fill and then when you put it back in, the rubber goes down and wedges between the container and the machine. Considering the water container already has a lid on it, I don't think this back part is necessary ( I may just snip it off). I would say this is a decent value, but could also see it being closer to the $10-$12 range instead. Overall a good product.

I’ve been using the Breville 870XL for over a decade, upgrading through each generation because nothing compares to the espresso this little machine can make every morning. My only complaint has always been that while most of the body is solid aluminum, the top surface is plastic. It never quite matched the rest of the machine’s design.Then I found this silicone mat. Keeps the top of my Breville clean!
I've always found it a pain to keep the top of my Breville espresso machine clean, as it is scalloped, and it's a pain to clean out each individual channel. But this rubber mat is a perfect fit, and easy to remove for cleaning. Just pop off the grinder hopper and place the mat on the Breville, the replace the hopper...easy peasy!It's made of flexible rubber, and goes in the dishwasher for cleaning. It's really nice quality, and a good value for the price.

I expected better
The mat is made of a quality rubber and has a uniform step along the backside. The biggest negative is it makes filling the water tank a lot harder than it needs to be. Additionally the fit is a bit sloppy. I don’t know if this is just a one off manufacturing problem. All in all while I thought this would be a nice addition it just seems to be a hassle. Cleaning used to be a quick wipe with a damp cloth now I find myself taking this off and washing it in the sink.

Fits perfectly, keeps the machine clean
Great, it fits my Breville espresso maker perfectly. This product is great because the top usually gets dirty with the grinds. And you can hold the porta filter on the edge of the mat (to get it level) and use it to tamp the grinds. It covers the whole top, even over the water reservoir, with a flap that you can move to refill it. This is also a great feature since I have noticed that grinds seem to get into the edge of the top of the reservoir. You do have to remove the 'bean hopper' on the grinder to put it on and take it off.
