Hassle-Free, High Quality Grill Pan
TECHEF never fails to impress me with their high quality cookware--this is not an exception. I typically avoid grilling because it can turn into a smokey, messy experience very fast, but this grill pan is a lifesaver for getting nice browning without going through the hassle of cooking on a traditional grill set up.Impressions:- Packaging & Shipping - My grill pan arrived in the signature TECHEF box which is very sturdy and has frustration free packaging so you can get to cooking right away. The pan itself was protected by a foam sleeve and the handle had a bubble wrap sleeve to ensure no damage occurs during transit. I can always count on TECEHF to pack their cookware with care and in a timely manner.- Design & Construction - The pan itself is very sleek and has a good weight to it that doesn't feel like it would break off an arm, but it also doesn't feel flimsy. The stainless steel handle is a nice touch and makes the pan very easy to handle. The bottom of the pan has an inverted grill design to help distribute heat to the ridges. The nonstick coating is unique because it makes grilling less stressful for novice grillers, it is very forgiving and allows for better movement around the pan. The grill ridges are slightly rounded and helps move oil around the perimeter of the pan. While grilling some carne asada for tacos it did a great job at searing the meat without creating a lot of smoke. For any vegetarians or vegans this would be great for grilling marinated vegetables like zucchinis or mushrooms. The grilling ridges themselves are not super pronounced, so it doesn't create super dark lines on things like vegetables or poultry. I simply was looking to get that signature char, so this pan lives up to my expectations.- Cleanup & Care - One of the great things I love about about TECHEF's nonstick technology is that most of the time rinsing their pans with hot water alone is enough to clean most of their cookware. I just give my pan a quick scrub with a plant-based soap and a nylon soap and my grill pan is ready to go. As extra precaution I would recommend using non-scratching cooking utensils (ie. not stainless steel) in order to prevent premature scratching. Washing by hand is always the best way to care for your pans and and the super nonstick designs make that a breeze. In the past when I would grill I would use a double burner grill pan, but it was definitely past its prime and would stick and leave my apartment smokey . The cleanup would be a nightmare and it was simply far too much work for grilling. Luckily I now have the option for easy grilling with this pan and is a stylish alternative to gangly indoor grill pans. I couldn't be more pleased to add this to my cookware arsenal and would completely recommend this to anyone.

The grill lines get your food a little browned and caramelized but doesn't dry it out
Pros:* No oil:Anytime you're going to grill chicken or beef in a pan the recipe always calls for oiling first. You have to "prep" the pan with oil. Even so the protein still manages to stick to the skillet. I was really happy to see that this grilling pan doesn't have this problem. You get all of the benefits of grilling but with the convenience of non stick teflon. That mean that no oil is necessary. If you prefer a little oil in you food just make sure that you're light handed with it. You don't need it, you'll end up with a soupy oily mess.* Crisps food -I made bacon in this pan and it was GREAT! The bacon wasn't swimming in it's own oil. The oil all stays in the grooves and the bacon sits on the high parts of the pan.* Caramelizes but doesn't dry-Steak or chicken is also really tasty in this pan. The grill lines get your food a little browned and caramelized but it doesn't dry out since it isn't coming in complete contact with the pan.* Easy to clean-These are a breeze to clean and things really do just slide off if you tip the pan. After frying an egg... if you wanted to, you could get away with just wiping the pan with a paper towel. I have done that if im in a rush bud don't want to leave bits of food sitting in the pan until i get home. I use vinegar in my kitchen for just about everything, from ant control, cleaning and deodorizing. So i keep spritz bottles around all the time. If im in a rush i'll wipe the crumbs off the pan, spritz with vinegar and dry with a paper towel. This keeps my kitchen free of ant bait.* Construction -The handle is shaped in a way that makes it fit naturally and comfortably in your hand. It's riveted to the pan, i like that because i hate having to deal with loose screws and wobbly handles. They don't rattle when you handle them like other cheaper pans do.Cons:* Get rid of metal utensils :This can be a Con if all of your utensils are metal. You're going to have to get nylon, wood or silicone utensils. Trust me it's worth the change though.* No Lid -The listing clearly says that there is no lid so i didn't take any stars off for this. It would make this pan amazing if it did have a lid though. If you want a lid for it... The TECHEF 12 in lid fits this pan perfectly. This one : TECHEF - Tempered Glass Lid with Stainless Steel Handle (12-Inch) I bought it separately but it fits this and the wok sold by this same company perfectly. (i took pictures)Verdict - LOVE. They look and perform like more expensive pans. They're pans that you would not be embarrassed to have company see.

Indoor Grilling - Healthy and Simple
The Onyx Collection does not disappoint! I've been having fun with this grill pan, which I found many uses for. This pan does not have an induction base, which is not an issue for me since I use a regular gas stove. However, the heat is still distributed evenly. I was very pleased with how the various meats cooked. The healthy food preparation is a main attraction for me. For the bacon and bacon wrapped hot dogs - nothing to use on the pan! For the chicken tenderloins - I used very little canola oil (which you can see in the photo). I am going to try it without oil the next time. The medium heat still lets the pan get hot enough to make those fun grill marks on your food. Notice how my stove has a level 10, and I only used level 4 heat and let the pan warm before adding food (for real). The no-fuss cleaning is a true joy, and it comes clean so quickly. I don't have any drawbacks on this pan - great for cooking pork, chicken, grilled sandwiches, bacon, etc. The only thing I have not tried it on yet is steak - after all, we want the char on that, right? As for anything else you may want to grill - don't worry that fall/winter is coming, you can still grill inside with this grill pan.
