Better than the shorter Smart Mug
I already own 2 of the Smart mugs, which I've been pretty happy with. But this is even better. It holds even more and it fits in my car cup holder. The top screws on and off, much easier to remove than having to pull off a tightly sealed top. It keeps my tea hot longer, probably because of the narrower construction. I haven't timed it, but if I keep the cap on it stays hot for many hours, at least 5 or 6. Removing the cap, or even keeping the flip cap open, definitely lowers the temperature, so keeping it closed completely as much as possible really makes a difference. If I forget and leave the cap off, and my tea gets too cool, I just put the cap back on, and wait a short while and it heats up to my preferred 145 degrees pretty quickly.It is odd to have a straw. I think the point of the straw is that the liquid would be less likely to slosh out than having the flip cap open? if it was being jostled a lot, for example, while driving. I would never use the straw (I only like to drink very hot drinks, and the instructions say not to use the straw for higher than 113 degrees which isn't hot enough for me) so I actually removed the straw.I wish the lanyard was long enough for my hand to fit through, so I could carry it hands-free, but that's a minor quibble. The textured surface does make it easy to hold.I also wish the top was leak-free. But I know from experience that's hard to achieve with many mugs, so I consider that also a minor quibble.Being able to charge my phone is a lovely perk.

UPDATE: I now have 3 of these. One at home, one at my daughters and one for camping that I plug into a solar panel. I am one of those people who get up, pour a hot mug of coffee or tea and then proceed to do my online games. Sometimes it takes me a couple of hours to finish my beverage. These cups keep my drink at a perfect 138 for the entire time I am playing my games and keep my phone charged too, How great is that?Retirement is a good thing and these mugs mug make it even better!My newest cup is the new red and I love it. It keeps my beverage at temperature and brings beverages that are poured into it that are cooler up to temperature. I have a habit of making my coffee or tea and then sitting down and doing my daily games. Sometimes I get so involved that by the time I go to drink my beverage it’s cold. Works consistently
The wireless charging is helpful- can charge phone and bottle at same time. The device seems to keep drinks warm for 2 hours plus if drink is loaded already warm. Can warm up cold drinks but you have to make sure to shake it to get it to stir and evenly distribute heat. Like others, I don’t love the lid/straw as it invariably spills if you try to drink without the straw. Unlike others, I like the carrying loop- I think it’s easier to carry the mug with this when your hands are otherwise full. Solid build.
