Fantastic customer service!
So, let me tell you, I've had my ThermoPro for 2-3 years. I love it! I've used it for turkeys, brisket, ribs, chicken, steak, everything. The connectivity is great. Keep in mind it uses Bluetooth so you're not going to get a ton of range just like any other Bluetooth device. The app works really well and is very intuitive. Now, the probe suddenly stopped working on Thanksgiving of all days. I was so upset. The base would only connect if in "boost" but the probe would never connect. I did everything to fix it based off the ThermoPro site. I also contacted their customer service. We were unable to fix it so they sent me a replacement. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING. I have several other ThermoPro products and after their amazing service, I won't get any other product. Well done guys!

Wireless Meat Thermometer that Works well
I used this wireless thermometer one time on some chicken thighs and it worked well. It notified me both on the unit and on the app when the chicken reached the desired temperature (with a little hiccup explained below). The set up was pretty easy. There are some decent instructions for connecting the temperature probe to the base and connecting the base to my phone. The app was relatively simple, but only had basic information on temperatures for various meats. I think there is opportunity for the app to have recipes, tips etc. I don't like adding apps to my phone, so they need to be worth the space they take up. I also didn't love that I had to re-pair the unit after I had turned it off overnight. The reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the difficulty checking the temp on chicken thighs. The probe is pretty big (4.5 inches long and pretty thick). When I first put it in, I didn't insert it correctly. The alarm went off for 174 degrees, but the check-in was definitely NOT cooked. I looked through instructions and didn't see any for inserting. However, there was information in the app on properly inserting the probe. Apparently, a tiny notch on the probe needs to be covered. It was difficult on a small chicken thigh, but I was able to get it to work. For thicker cuts of meat, there shouldn't be issues. Just make sure you insert the probe like the picture in the app.

Save your money and get a cheap instant read thermometer.
For the money this thing is junk. First cook the temperatures were all over the place. The app kept alerting that the ambient temperature was too high, and the meat temperature barely changed. Before I could even finish smoking the brisket, I lost connection to the spike, so I checked it other ways. Confirmed meat temp was a good 20-30° higher than the last reading from my app, and the manual thermometer on my smoker and an infrared thermometer both gave me temperatures exactly where I expected them to be. I calibrated the thermometer using boiling water and an ice cube and got readings I expected, so I rechaged and hoped to try again. The next time I used it for a beef roast, and pulled it at 130. The instant read said 150, so I cut into to check and sure enough, it was way over cooked.Gave it one last try at Thanksgiving when I attempted to smoke a chuck roast. Went to charge it and couldn't get the spike to register at all. It looks like the battery in the spike is dead. Overall, I think I got to use it 5 times over 2 years. Not once did it work right. I was always better off just using a $10 instant read thermometer.Oh, and the app is a pain in the ass as well. The interface is so clunky and the alarms so obnoxious, that I felt a sense of relief when the unit died and I didn't have to deal with it anymore.

Accurate and took the guesswork out of cooking
I used the TempSpike wireless Bluetooth thermometer to make a mini pan roast, and it came out beautifully. The temperature readings and timing were accurate, which really mattered because not all ovens heat evenly; and mine definitely needed extra time to reach the doneness I wanted. Because of this thermometer, I was able to monitor the internal temperature closely and pull the roast out at exactly the right moment. It completely took the guesswork out of cooking and gave me confidence that the meat was cooked perfectly. I’d definitely recommend this for anyone who wants more precise results when cooking or roasting.
