Glad I chose a hand-grinder over electric
I was wrestling with the decision to buy a burr grinder so I could enjoy great coffee. The electric versions with quality components and better performance were really pricey. My sister had given me a light-weight ceramic burr hand grinder to try and it took SIX minutes to grind a 24 oz. cup-worth of coffee. So I kept asking friends and watching reviews on Youtube while checking Amazon warehouse for a good deal on a great electric burr grinder. Then I saw reviews for hand-grinders. Dollar for dollar, the hand-grinders can provide a quality grinder of a fraction of the electric grinders. I valued that I would not have to give up an area in my kitchen for a bulky appliance or look at having a grinder that could quit working in just a few years.I went with a Timemore after learning that replacement parts are easy to purchase and the reviews were consistently favorable. I had thought about another popular brand that has a silicone collar but decided that enough people found over time the collar no longer stayed in place and made grinding more cumbersome. I like the texture of the metal surface that makes gripping the grinder firmly pleasant. The weight of the grinder and the smooth function of the bearings made me a believer. This is a quality piece of equipment that I enjoy using to get consistent grinds. The straight handle makes this a good grinder for both left and right-handed grinding. The flip-down handle means it does not take up a lot of room and you don't have a separate handle to contend with. The wheel to adjust the grind works smoothly and provides a better way to fine-tune the grind for different roasts of coffee and various brewing methods. I mostly brew hot coffee in my Chemex and cold brew in my French press. I can easily find a grind that makes great coffee. Plus, grinding by hand doesn't generate the heat like the high-speed grinding of an electric grinder--preserving the flavor of my favorite beans. If the price of electric grinders seems daunting and you don't need to grind big batches of beans, a quality hand-grinder is definitely a way to enjoy burr grinding. Plus, it takes up a very small space in your kitchen. So happy I found this Timemore S3 grinder.

Great grinder for coffee enthusiasts and beginners
I have been using this grinder for what feels like a month now. I have enjoyed setting different grind sizes on the fly. It has really stepped my pour over game up. Quality is in the precision, detailed knarling , and precise movement of the grinder. I'm no coffee snob but it makes me feel like a barista when I'm grinding for my pour over every morning.

Amazing grinder, just not for fine espresso in anyway
I gave this a 4 star coming from a C3 ESP and the MHW Bomber R3 blade grinder. I will say the build quality is impeccable. The grind was fairly easy, better then the MHW Bomber, but to be honest, on par with the C3 ESP as far as ease goes. The external ring was extremely nice and seems very functional. The main reason I gave this a 4 star is that it's a step above the C3 ESP in everyway. I didn't get to test the grind quality as I tried doing espresso with this which it was way to coarse, even on the lowest setting. So if you wanted to espresso and wanted to use a Timemore grinder, you would need the C3 ESP or C5 ESP (which I will cover next ;) ).

Excellent Grinder. Note: it takes 90+ turns for a double espresso
Excellent Quality Grinder.Bought this when my Breville grinder stopped working I wanted something manual. I watched a few videos by James Hoffmann ("the" coffee guy on youtube) and settled on this model.I've used it for 4 months straight with no issues.I experimented with grinder settings to get the perfectly timed flow for espresso and settled on two notches from the end (see picture). At this setting it takes 90-100 turns for a double shot of espresso. After a month of use, my left arm (the one holding it) started showing signs of a repetitive stress injury in the making. To solve this I bought the $7 Otstar Jar Opener Bottle Opener to grip it (see picture). After that all the pain went away. The only thing that concerns me is the collapsible handle. It feels somewhat delicate as if it may break at some point, but so far so good.
