The pros and cons of titanium
The closest comparison to titanium cutting boards is glass. They're both non-porous, therefore bacteria-free and hygienic. But I stopped using glass cutting boards many years ago because they're heavy, they dull knives quickly, and I don't like the loud noise when chopping, not to mention there's a chance they could crack or break. So, titanium wins vs glass, on all the above. But by comparison, the price of titanium is a substantially higher investment.I'm not ashamed to admit that I love the inexpensive, thin plastic cutting mats, even though they're at the bottom of the scale for hygiene because they get grooves from cutting and microscopic plastic bits contaminate food. But they're so much more ergonomic than glass and titanium, making food prep super-easy. They're thin, very lightweight and malleable. I can do the chopping and curve the mat to slide the food right into the pan or place the whole thing on top of stuff in the refrigerator until needed. I can't do any of that with titanium. But that's just me, I have back problems and need the speediest efficiency.Titanium cutting boards are lighter weight than glass and less clumsy than thick wood that harbors bacteria, and therefore, titanium is top of the class. Not to mention that it's aesthetically appealing, with the high-tech silver metal portraying a modern, stylish kitchen. However, when I took pictures, I noticed big fingerprints, so if you want to show them off in the kitchen, you'll need a handy polishing cloth.I thought I'd only use the large one over the holidays or when entertaining, but that evening, it was the perfect size to separate a rotisserie chicken.The middle size is just right for midweek dinners. But when I need to cut something small, I use a ceramic plate, so I'd prefer a less expensive set of two, and eliminate the small cutting board. However, they're already getting more use than expected, and I'll use my plastic mats as an adjunct until I can wean myself off them.It's a beautiful set, making a great gift for Christmas, weddings, or housewarming.

Great Cutting Board
This is a nice cutting board. It arrived as described and came packaged in a sturdy box so it would also make a good gift. They also include a booklet with care instructions which is nice if you haven't used one before.The 16X11 is a generous size to meet most needs but really thin and lightweight making it easy to store and just generally handle. I like the antibacterial properties of it so I've been wanting to try a Titanium cutting board for a while and I'm happy with this one.I prefer the feel of a wood cutting board but this isn't bad to cut on, definitely better than glass which I don't like at all. You at least feel a little resistance when cutting so the knife doesn't slip on you another thing I do not like about glass. My only concern is if it dulls my knives, so far it's been ok but we'll see how it is after longer use is. The mottled silver pattern to it is attractive and has a bit of a sparkle to it in the light so it looks nice on the counter. This also gives it some versatility as I could see using it to serve off of it.I really like that it cleans up so easily and nothing soaks in or stains, it doesn't show scratches and it doesn't hold odors. It seems like it will be pretty durable and not staining like other cutting boards do should really extend its usable life making it a good value over wood or plastic as well.

Great set of titanium cutting boards
These titanium cutting boards are great. They are solid and have a good weight to them. The surfaces are non-porous which is nice - no smells, no stains, no lingering juice smells. They wash, rinse and dry easily - allowing me to immediately put them away. And compared to plastic - no micro-plastics when the plastic starts getting cut up. These are versatile enough to be used as a simple serving tray for fruit, meats, cheeses or as charcuterie board. I've always had concerned with knife wear but that seems more myth than concern. I routinely sharpen my knives anyways.
