Great wood alternative
I’ve been using a thick wooden cutting board for years, and cheap plastic ones more recently. This titanium and wheat straw hybrid cutting board has turned out to be a great everyday alternative to plastic ones I used more often for less maintenance.The double-sided design works well - I use the titanium side for raw meat and seafood since it’s non-porous, doesn’t absorb odors, and wipes clean easily. The wheat straw side is perfect for fruits and vegetables and has just enough texture to keep food from sliding around while I prep. Some of both worlds, all of none
This cutting board is functional as a cutting board. But of you are looking for the magic super-sanitary cutting board that works well with your knives, this is not it. The "titanium" (I doubt it's really titanium; I suspect steel) side is very disinfectable but will dull your knives. The wheat straw side is nicer to your knives, but will scar and trap bacteria even if you put it through the dishwasher. The grippy edge is nice but suspends the board a but and makes it very noisy to use, and the "juice groove" is on the wheat straw side on which you probably don't want to cut the meat. At $27 I do not find that this has any advantage over a wood cutting board.
