These are excellent shears. Well made, precise, and high quality construction. One of the best shears I've ever used, and I've had plenty in my time. One recommendation: do not machine wash these. Hand wash and dry immediately to keep them in the best possible condition.
I bought these as a gift for my fiancé who loves to cook and BBQ meat on the table. The first time he picked them up, he sliced his finger on the blade edge like butter, ended up getting butterfly stitches! Be careful they are sharp and definitely cut through flesh effortlessly.So I guess that goes to show how effective these are! Love that they separate and are dishwasher safe. Sooooo much more hygienic than other kitchen scissors!!
As you would expect at this price point. Really nice.
As far as kitchen shears go, these are some of the stronger ones I have had in the drawer. They're basic, but do the trick.The Good: They are solid, shiny Japanese steel. Very sturdy and can handle most meat, bones and chores. The teeth have been able to cut through some pretty thick bones and chicken breasts. They separate for complete cleaning which is great if you're as messy as I am in the kitchen.The Ok: The grip is a little wonky. Not sure why...they just don't seem to fit comfortably in anyone's hands compared to some of the other kitchen store versions. And they're definitely only for the Righties. Also - because they come apart for cleaning, every once in awhile you will open them too wide to get at something and they'll fall apart. It's not a flaw specific to this brand...it happens to everyone with every two piece shears. Maybe it just comes with the territory.Overall, these are still some of the stronger shears I've tried. I'd recommend them with those few callouts.
Finishing quality is low considering its price
Best kitchen shears I have ever owned. I've used them a lot for cutting veggies for salads, they are very sharp, and seperate for easy cleaning.
I returned these TONMA Heavy Duty Kitchen Shears without ever using them. They were far too heavy for my hand. The shape of the handles was also uncomfortable. I'm disappointed. The TONMA brand has a good reputation, and these kitchen shears certainly aren't cheap.
