I love it, very sharp, beautiful and excellent quality. I highly recommend a leather sheath to protect the edge in your kitchen drawers. A better price than I could find at local stores.
Well made and made in Japan knife before this l ordered and returned 2 knives they said made in Japan was sticker said made in China but this one is real.
I went with Tonma due to their experience with making scissors and shears. I figured it would be better than a “no name” brand. It’s definitely a great knife. The sharp edge at the heel of the blade is definitely not the best, but a small file will knock that off to reduce the risk of getting poked.
Sharp out of the box, holds it's edge, and the thinner blade glides through veggies and meats. Would buy again.
This knife is excellent straight out of the box. Sharp and well made. It appears to be very close in quality of material and manufacturing to the highly regarded MAC knives. Same excellent steel for starters. Fit and finish are also exceptional.FYI; If buying from the TONMA site the knife is offered for approximatly $80. Amazon has certainly offered the best price. A superb choice if you are a first time Japanese knife buyer or need a gift for the chef in your family. I really enjoy using mine.
Love the quality the functionality is the capability the sharpness and I have quality and edge retention. Beautiful knife would definitely buy another type from this customer.
