Almost Perfect

I like the cake carrier except for the latches being a bit hard to snap shut and open. Other than that it is great otherwise. I like the fact the handles are attached without holes being in the lid keeping the cake more airtight and fresh.

Great transport

Made a dense two layer cake with a buttercream frosting and it traveled successfully in this container during a 2 hour car ride. The base worked perfectly as a cutting platform/serving tray once we got there. Definitely review the instructions for how to best use the handle/clamps. They are made of hard plastic and can break if not pressed correctly. They do give you an extra set of handles/clamps in case this happens.

Cracked lid….

In 2019 prior to Christmas I ended up buying three of these. The first arrived with a huge hole busted in the lid so I returned it and ordered another one. The second one arrived with one of the clasps detached but I was able to put it back on without any issues. It clasped fine on both sides. I make two cakes for Christmas so I ordered a third one and it arrived in perfect condition but unfortunately I dropped the cake holder (without cake in it) and I busted a big hole in he lid. I threw the busted one away eventually so I decided to order another one this year and it arrived with a long crack in the top of the lid. I did not take a picture but there are other buyers who posted pictures of theirs arriving cracked as well and mine was quite similar. I did appreciate the extra handles that were sent but I sent it back and went to Walmart and found a better cake carrier for less money. The one I bought from Walmart is a Better Home And Gardens brand. It looks like it may hold up to a three layer cake. It also can be used as a cupcake carrier as well. The plastic lid is a clear and is a heavier plastic. It also has four clasps to hold the lid in place and the handle in the lid is very secure. The Better Home and Gardens cake carrier from Walmart is better quality compared to this cake carrier. Unfortunately I was disappointed in my repeat purchase of this one this year. Too much hassle going back and forth ordering, shipping back and reordering. I’d go to Walmart and see if you can find their Better Home and Gardens cake carrier.
