I just got this so this might be a premature review, but I love it! These are beautiful, function great & feel high quality. First I bought glass, plastic & stainless steel plated grindrs that wore down the plastic on the inside & it ruined a bunch of expensive Colema salt & god in my food. With all of the carcinogenic micro-plastics contaminating our environment & getting in our brain, potentially harmful kitchen utensils are not the place to skimp on quality. I'm confident recommending this grinder.

Beautiful but iffy workmanship

This is absolutely gorgeous and it works well too- you don’t have to turn it very many times to get a significant amount of pepper, and you can easily adjust the knob to get a medium coarse grind, which is what I prefer. (I am including a picture of how much pepper I got with 5 turns..) It does have a steel mechanism so it should be durable, and it holds a good amount of peppercorns. However, on the first one I received the wood was cracked from the bottom to halfway up the body and I had to return it. Amazon shipped it in an envelope instead of a box and that may have contributed to the problem, but because of the way it split I think it was a manufacturing defect. It also did not ship next day as was stated, it took a week for it to arrive each time. So if you order this be aware you may have to wait quite a while to get it, especially if you have to order it more than once like I did.
