Great little boxes!

These little boxes are great. We wanted to replace some old shakers with something a little different and chose these for simplicity. They hold a good amount, 1 holds our salt, the others has dried red chili flakes. I like the size and how the boxes sit in just a slight (2-3mm) recessed square in the base. This keeps them from sliding around.These are not air-tight, so we opted to keep the black pepper grinder since fresh ground pepper has stronger flavor.These are plenty large enough for whatever spice, herb, or dry garnish (crispy garlic? sunflower seeds? sesame seeds?) you frequently use! Having 1 box with an herb blend and the other with a pepper blend would also work well.

Attractive way to store salt/spices and keep the on hand

I was tired of storing my kosher salt in an old salsa jar. The jar did the job, but just looked tacky. This keeps it easy at hand in the kitchen and looks nice and attractive on the counter. The included spoon and slot are nice features as well.The magnetic closure is easy to open but also keeps the lid closed securely. Although not so secure that it will not spring open if knocked off the counter or table.

This salt box is very sturdy and I like the magnetic spoon on top of the lid. It is very well made and thick, but it does smell like wood when you first open it. You should wash it with mild soap and dry it per their directions. Keep the lid open for about two to three days to air out and the wooden smell disappears. Looks good & is handy

I put kosher salt in one box and ground white pepper in the other since I typically use those seasonings for most of my cooking. I cook a lot and I have taken to white pepper since we eat a lot of chicken and fish. Black pepper can burn in a quick saute and white pepper disappears and leaves a nice flavor behind. I have replaced sea salt with kosher because the flakes are bigger and make it harder to over salt a piece of meat.
