What’s crazy is that a simple plastic marinade bin seems to be so expensive these days. This works fine for what I need. Holds about 4 large chicken breasts side by side. It’s also very solid. I don’t know what kind of material it is but it’s very sturdy, but also seems brittle in the sense that if you dropped it high enough onto a hard surface it would chip or shatter. That’s not a big deal though
Bought these several times easy to use for meal prep and they go right in the microwave. They do wear out as they are plastic, but we got more than our monies worth from each order
I saw this item during a backyard entertaining segment on the weekend news. I ordered it for my husband so he'd stop using my cookie sheets to transport meat from the grill. He was skeptical when I told him about it but now that he has been using it, he absolutely loves it. It is easy to clean, and very versatile.

Great just as described. We use it for marinating works well .not microwave safe but is dishwasher safe. Yes I would recommend
For starters, I have a set of Tovolo Large "Modern" trays that I've been using for several years and absolutely love them. There are extremely high quality, strong/sturdy, easy to clean and easy to identify (the two I already have are red (uncooked food) and black (cooked food), so easy to identify if grilling in low light conditions. Additionally, the trays stack nicely, so when I'm taking uncooked food out, I have that tray on top and the clean tray underneath. After putting the food on the grill, I can swap the soiled tray underneath, so you can easily carry both trays out and not have to make trips back and forth into the house for trays and don't have to battle real estate for multiple trays outside.So when I saw this marinade set I was anxious to get and try it out and, as expected, it's also a hit in my book. While smaller than the large trays, the marinade tray is excellent with the high sides and is basically like a casserole dish. You can marinade your meats in it and use the "clean" tray as a cover in the fridge. Ditto at the grill. Place your meat on the grates and place your "clean" tray on top and you're ready to carry in your cooked food and soiled marinade tray in one trip.The melamine construction is extremely strong, easy to clean (by hand or dishwasher) and doesn't stain or absorb food odors.I will caution against dropping them. While I haven't, and didn't even concern myself with this with the existing trays, when I ordered this marinade set, the first arrived with one end of the marinade dish shattered on delivery (bubble wrapped in an Amazon box). The box must have been slammed at some point during shipping. A replacement quickly arrived without issue, but the experience did highlight to me that the strength of the trays are accompanies by some brittleness, so be cautious (of course, If I drop mine, I'll be more upset over the cost of the food lost than I will the trays.Overall, I highly recommend both the marinade set and the modern trays. I'm a huge fan and have bought other Tovolo trays to give to friends who frequently grill as gifts.
As prep trays these are great. Sear a steak and slice it to serve, nice!
