Great knife, heavy, stays sharp, stylish and I have purchased several . I use it to cut everything from steaks to vegetables
I bought one of the cleaver knives for my "kitchen camping kit" which is a large plastic container that we bring camping. By this purchase you can tell that we eat well when we camp and take our food seriously. When I received the knife (which I ordered because I thought that it was a good value) I noticed the quality. Wood handle, German Steel blade, very sharp out of the box... this was a really nice knife at a great price.I worked with my first knife for a little over a week before I placed an order for the following...1 - Cleaver1 - Santoku1 - 5" Utility2 - 4" Pairing2 - 8" ChefsAnd I threw out all of the slop that was in my knife drawer in the kitchen. I bought a full set of 8 steak knives from another company and now I have an entirely new set of kitchen knives. One week and two Tri-Tips, three steaks, one roast chicken, pizzas, diced onions, tomatos, celery and other assorted veggies later and I couldn't be happier. They are sharp, balanced, they cut great, they clean easily (hand wash and dry) and they look fantastic. I look forward to using these for years to come.
I have almost every knife Tuo makes. Why? Because they’re GREAT! Great quality, very usable styles, and beautifully made. This 5” fits nicely between my Tuo 4” paring knife and the small chef knife that I use so much. Nothing beats the right tool for the job, and Tuo knives are DEFINITELY the right tool for my kitchen❤️
It’s a decent knife. Two stars simply because it wasn’t sharp out of the box. Wouldn’t slice a grape tomato without some effort, it’s an inexpensive knife but should still be sharp enough to slice a tomato. I may send it back.Update, seller contacted me and sent me an another knife free of charge.I uploaded a video showing how it wouldn’t slice thru a grape tomato, the first one I used is the one that wasn’t sharp and compared its sharpness with the smaller knife which I’ve had for years and as you can see the tomato don’t lie. I will add a two stars for the seller making it right.I haven’t used the replacement yet, once I do I’ll update my review.
I'm not kidding, this is a fantastic knife for the price. I wanted a not-too-small-not-too-big general knife. The pairing knife from my otherwise excellent German knife set was too small and the small chef knife was too big. This knife is just right for many of the misc small cutting jobs. Jobs when you only need to cut a few of something like cucumbers, mushrooms, celery, carrots etc.The handle is easy to hold and doesn't slip in my medium sized hands. Besides, it looks beautiful with the fiery-red coloring. It very much stands out in the otherwise boring black block set.The blade is very sturdy. Far less flex that the smaller German pairing knife I'd likely compare it to. It's sharp... and has stayed sharp. Keep in mind that I'm not a knife neanderthal that can't be bothered to grab a cutting board. I use a cutting board, but also use the knife a bunch. I've not felt even close to busting out the knife sharpener. If you have made it this far in the, I have to note that this is now the second knife from this fiery red style that I *purchased*. No freebie knife-for-review here. I bought the second knife, since I loved the first so much. Here's my only very minor issue... I'd like to have the handle coated/protected/poly'd... I never let my wood handled knives set in water nor dumb enough to place in the dish washer. I use them and immediately clean then dry them. On the other hand, the feel of that wood handle is very good.
I was looking for a durable, sharp, and inexpensive kitchen knife to buy for my workplace kitchen. The knives there are all terrible and I was sick of mashing my food instead of cutting it. The thing is, I didn't want to spend a lot on something that might just fall into the same state of disrepair that the other knives fell victim to (even though I hid this new knife in a fairly unused part of the kitchen).Enter the TUO knife. Normally you can say that you want durable, sharp, and cheap but you only get to pick two. Well at about $20 this knife hits all three out of the park! I have used it daily for over a month to cut fruit or chop veggies for a salad and it is still going strong. As an added bonus, I love the flair of the wood handle. It's so much better than most other knives in this price range with black plastic handles.Overall this knife is excellent for daily driver light kitchen duty. The only very slight nitpick that I have is the (very, very slightly) raised branded lettering on the blade. When I am cleaning this knife, food particulate (especially animal fats from bacon, etc.) tend to get caught on the lettering, requiring a little extra scrubbing. But once you know to look for it, it's mostly a non-issue.At around $20 this is a total 5-star purchase.
I have owned this knife for only a few days but already I love it. It has a great feel and balance. Overall it is very well made and the blade is razor sharp. It is the perfect size for cutting small veggies. This knife is a great value for the price. I hope the seller does not raise the prices because of all the good reviews. My wife liked it so much she had me order 6 more to use as steak knives. I also bought the Nakiri which I will review in another post. You cannot go wrong with this knife.
