This is a nice baster set. Mine came with all the items (baster/bulb, basting brush and cleaning brush). It works as you would expect it to. The plastic of the baster is strong and clear. Visually, you would think it was glass until you touch it. This part had no smell, but the bulb does have a “new silicone” smell that I’ve noticed with many, many kitchen items, so this is no big deal to me.For the reviewer that complained that using this gets grease into the bulb, which is hard to clean, it is true that this is a possible aspect of any turkey baster, but it is completely avoidable. Just don’t squeeze the bulb very much before you pull up the juice. Practice in water if you need so you know how much to squeeze while always keeping the bulb dry – then just be careful to always keep the bulb above the baster so no oil/grease flows into it. In fact, I recommend this, as silicone does tend to pick up odors from savory food, so it’s best to keep the bulb dry if you can. If it gets oils/grease in it, you can also clean the bulb by sucking up dish soap and water and shaking it really well, but by nature of silicone, it may always have a scent left behind.Regardless, this set is nice, and the cleaning brush is tapered perfectly to fit all the way to the end of the baster. A little dish soap and water and some twisting, and you’re good to go. The bulb comes off easily for cleaning. It's a bit harder to put back on, but I found that you don't even need to get it onto the last ring/ridge for it to have full suction without an air leak.The basting brush is a bit bigger than the others I have from other purchases. It seems many things include this as a throw-in these days. I find they don’t work too well, especially with thinner liquids. I recommend cutting the silicone brushes short; I think they work better that way (not so floppy) – but the better choice is to not include it. It’s an unnecessary addition, in my opinion. But even still, the price is good, even with this unnecessary add.I’m very happy with this set and would recommend, especially for the price (12 dollars for the set at the time of this review).

This turkey baster set is huge! Way bigger than I thought it was going to be. I actually have a stainless steel baster, and I thought that was large. But when I put this one up to my stainless steel one, it looks like a baby bear just sat by his big papa bear!The baster is made of a combination of silicone and plastic; but it seems to be pretty durable. And one of the things I like about this is...you can see through it; so you know how much is going into the tube. Plus...you know how clean it's getting while you're washing it. Having a stainless steel baster, you kind of have to just keep cleaning it and cleaning it, until everything comes out clear...hoping that you got everything out. With this clear baster there's no problem with that. Plus...it comes with a nice big cleaning brush, so that's going to help a lot. In fact... I'll use that cleaning brush for my stainless steel baster too.The basting brush is also made up of a combination of heavy duty plastic, and silicone. This basting brush is massive, as well. I just purchased a smaller basting brush, and thought that it was a nice size. No... It's miniscule compared to this basting brush. So you're not going to have to worry about burning your fingers, or anything like that....because you'll have plenty of room to be able to keep basting your turkey, or your roast, or whatever it is you want to baste with less chances of you burning yourself, while you're doing it.I really like this set! Again...not sure how long this baster will hold up, compared to my stainless steel one. But I think it'll hold up for a while. Because it does look like it's pretty sturdy...despite the fact that it's made of plastic!

Very Handy Set To Have
This is a nice set and will do what I need it to do. I expect to get lots of use out of the items. My old baser had given out and while I don't use a baster that often it's a pain to not have one when you need it so I had been looking for one. Having the extra basting brush and bottle cleaner included made it that much nicer as those I will use all the time.The baster seems to made of nice durable materials. The included bottle brush is great. I had no issue just popping the bulb off of the baster and using the brush to get the tube portion nice and clean. You do have to tug a bit to get it off and on as is common with these since the rubber bulb has to create a tight seal with the tube so you don't have a suction problem. The tube did have 3 rings around the top to give good grip with the bulb.The baster brush is a nice silicon material and the handle has a nice weight to it. The only odd thing, but it doesn't have an effect on the brush, is that the silicon outer shell layer must be longer than the interior structure of the brush handle because the handle is very firm but then the top tip of it is soft and floppy.
