Nice white reusable tablecloth

I got this white tablecloth for a backyard wedding. Unlike the washing instructions, I washed it in the machine and dried on the clothesline, and it came out nice. Minimal wrinkles. It is a nice color white and weight, not thin. I cannot comment on the stain resistance yet, but it says Do Not Rub, which makes me wonder about durability. I would not wash by hand as recommended. The care instructions are why I gave it a 4. Its a nice reusable, not disposable, tablecloth that i hope I can use many times. If so, $15 it is a good value.

Polyester white tablecloth with recommendation to either spot cleaning or hand wash and air dry

This is a decent quality white tablecloth which I ordered to have on hand as a spare. What I like about it is the weight of the fabric; it is a heavier weight than some of my other tablecloths. The fabric is described as waterproof polyester. I haven’t put that feature to the test yet as my dining room is only used a few times a year, but I can see how that would be a nice feature. What I didn’t like so much was that the tablecloth is not hemmed; instead of hemming it, they serged the edges. In my opinion, this detracts from the overall quality and makes it less durable. The other thing I really didn’t care for was the care instructions—to maintain optimal performance they recommend spot cleaning (seriously? spot clean a white tablecloth?) and in capital letters emphasize “DO NOT RUB.” They go on to state that machine washing should be minimized as frequent laundering will reduce effectiveness. Instead they recommend hand washing in cold water and air drying. What? In what world are busy people going to want to hand wash a 60 x 102 inch size polyester tablecloth and then air dry it. Air dry it where? If this was a delicate antique lace tablecloth, I’d be all about hand washing it and figuring out some way to lay it out on towels somehow to dry. But it’s not—it’s an un-hemmed polyester tablecloth! When the time comes, it’s going in the washer on the delicate cycle followed by the dryer on low. If it makes it, fine. If not, who cares? While this appears to be a decent polyester tablecloth at a not totally unreasonable price, due to the care limitations, I personally would not recommend it.
