Why did you pick this product vs others?:As soon as I saw these plates I knew that I had to have them! I love the subtle differences in the glass. They are very substantial - I wouldn't say "heavy", but they do have heft. The size is a little smaller than a typical American dinner plate. So far they have been easy to clean by hand washing - I would never put them in the dishwasher. They stack nicely. Honestly considering putting these out on my counter island with floating candles for get togethers, they are so pretty!

These are the plates I reach for when serving risotto or gnocchi. The shallow shape works really well for dishes with sauce, and the 8-inch size keeps portions under control without feeling skimpy. The blue spray across the white, lightly textured stoneware is even more striking in person—it’s subtle but artistic, like a brushstroke.The stoneware has a nice weight to it and feels sturdy without being bulky. There’s a handcrafted quality to the texture and glazing, but they still stack neatly in the cabinet. I’ve also used them for pasta, salads, even a fruit crumble or two—they present food beautifully without being fussy.They’re dishwasher- and microwave-safe, and I haven’t had any issues with staining or cracking. I do tend to avoid abrasive scrubbers just to preserve the surface.

These are stunning plates

These are absolutely stunning Japanese plates.They are a good size, larger than I expected, and have a heft to them. They are very good quality and the color and sheen on them are absolutely beautiful. I got the nebula blue which gives the plates a nice look to them. The plates also have an interesting texture to them that gives them a certain something to them.They are heavy and so be careful washing them. Definitely would make a great gift or just to use for yourself.

First off I have to say I was blown away by the beauty of these bowl/ plates.The craftsmanship is impeccable and I will probably be using them as decorPieces or in some other sort of display. Although these shallow bowls area perfect size for salad or dessertsThe beautiful ceramic stoneware has a satisfying heft and the green reactive glazeis even better than in the photos. ( The outer side is rougher and not a gloss finish.)My bowls arrived very quickly and were packaged with care in a very sturdy box.For me they are worth the price.
