I was using a hand held grater and it wasn't easy, so I started looking at the ones that stick to your counter. Then I saw the kitchenAid grater and decided to try it, I don't know why I waited so long, it is the best grater ever. I love it, it goes on so easily and all I have to do is turn it on and it does all the work . If you don't have one, this one is a great price and it works well . I just started using it, but seems pretty durable. Love it.

Best shredder for potatoes and cheese ever.
Best stand mixer attachment.I used this to make potato pancakes for 18 guests on Christmas Eve. Ten pounds of potatoes and six onions were shredded amazingly fast. Then I quickly cleaned it and shredded two pounds of cheese. It is amazing. I ran it at medium high speed and it worked great!Some of the cheese got stuck be hind the blade but it was easy to clean out with a table knife after disconnecting it.Wish I bought this decades ago. So much better than my food processor for this job.

It works great!
I've only used this once so far. I shredded and sliced 3 cheeses. I sliced Swiss & parmesan and it did a perfect job. I shredded cheddar and it did well, but it does ball up somewhat. I just paused and cleared it or just grabbed some and helped feed it. Every machine I've tried does that with cheddar. I might try freezing it a little next time. It fits my KitchenAid perfectly and is very easy to switch blades etc. I had the old style rotarty KitchenAid shredder/slicer and it was just big and bulky. This takes up half the storage and works just as well. I actually like this better for size and it does just Some people complain about the size of the chute, but I thought it was fine. You just have to cut things up a little. No big deal. I usually buy 5 pound blocks of cheese to shred & freeze. I was done in 10 minutes. It's great & I would buy again.
