This is a must have attachment. Tenderizes meats without a mess. Easy to clean and a very sturdy construction. I strongly recommend it.
Great item! We use this to cube our deer meat before packing it. Works great, easy to clean!
Used this on some venison steaks. It attached to the kitchen aid mixer perfectly, worked smoothly and made perfect steaks for breading and skillet frying. I was skeptical of the plastic gears, but it worked great! I am not sure how robust it would be for everyday use, but it did work better than I expected. The only drawback is the disassembly for proper cleaning requires a wrench that was not included in the kit. If the wrench was included it would get five stars!
I didn't have a thing to cube up when it arrived so I went to the store and the closest thing they had was sirloin pork chops that were a little too thick and had a bad grain. It tenderized the pork but nothing like I'd hoped. So I went back to the store and got a beef "Eye of Round" roast because it was lean and I could slice it across grain to work better with my new tool. I sliced it thin and ran it through the tenderizer 8 or 10 times at different angles and from different directions. It still didn't look like they do from a commercial cube machine but the proof is in the pudding. So I fried them in a little oil and I'm here to tell you they were exactly what I wanted! The beef was almost fork tender and plenty tender for making chicken fried steaks (that's what I wanted). It was easy to clean. I used the spray wand from my sink and it seemed to remove everything, then I went ahead and ran it through my dishwasher. It came out like new.I've used commercial cube machines and this isn't it because it doesn't tear up the meat like they do and the thickness is limited. But if you want something to tenderize round steak or make chicken fried steaks using thin slices of "eye of round" you're looking at the right piece of equipment for your home. This thing is sturdy and I believe it will last me my whole life as well as whoever ends up with it after I'm gone.My mind is whirling from all the ways I plan on using it. To me... it was a great investment!
This item works okay? I expected it to be more like the commercial style that is used in meat markets. This particular item doesn't really have blades. It has small little nipple type tenderizing buttons. It doesn't really cut 210 derize. It's more like it just presses it and makes it thinner. You still have to simmer the meat for at least 1 to 2 hours to make it fork tender.
Misleading it says upgraded now to still gears arrive with plastic gearsUpdate:I contact the company. They informed me doing a transaction from plastic to metal. Some plastic ones were still on the shelves. They said if the brakes that we replace it immediately or I can have them sent out metal gears now I decided to have the metal gears now they are fast, they got here in four days. The customer service for this company is awesome. Great whatever high stars you give them I give it to them. They are customer service people. I have used it and it works great it tenderize my meat
