New and Improved Upright Mandaline
Finally, a safe and sturdy mandaline that is so easy to use and easy to clean.The main reason I bought this slicer was to make my own dehydrated sweet potato chips for my dogs.One small bag costs $9.99!It took longer to wash 4 big sweet potatoes than it did to slice them.Seriously.The slices were laid out on trays to be dehydrated.Voilà!Within minutes I had the equivalent of 3 or 4 bags of sweet potato slices prepped for dehydrating AND without any danger of injuring myself.Another couple of sweet potatoes and the slicer will pay for itself.I'm looking forward to experimenting with the French Fry, Chopping and Julienne features, too.I highly recommend this seller and this product.

Has a wide mouth. Works fantastic.
This is a great addition to the kitchen but for me, the mouth is to big. I had a smaller one with a round mouth but I wore it out. I got this one thinking bigger was better, but not for small produce, as they tend to fall sideways while slicing and come out different shapes. Still, this saves a ton of time!

Eh, Seems Messy
This is a very safe Mandolin slicer, there is no doubt about that. The instructions to put it together are clear, which is a good thing because when I pulled it out of the box, I was confused by all the pieces. It does have suction cups on the bottom, which is nice to hold it in place.I did not love this though. It seems big and cumbersome - not easy to store, even though the mandolin part lays flat. After I used it and moved the piece the food lands in, there was quite a bit of food on my counter that didn't make it into the holder. Also, there were lots of bits left in the slicer area that makes it difficult to clean as well.Bottom line - it's safe, but I will go back to using my normal method for cutting food, because this is just too much to pull out and put together for the mess it made and I feel like food I lost as well due to what ended up landing on my counter and what was left stuck in the slicer.

Sharp, works well, but design is for right handed user
This would be a good set to have for a right handed individual in their kitchen, fold out easily for them, sharp blades you don't have to change or touch (and convenient brush included to get stuck item out from beneath or behind the blades safely)I'm mentioning this about right hand people ..Because as a left handed, it's not intuitive for me to use. It's awkward to open with my dominant hand, harder to clean for me, and I have to constantly refer to diagrams and instructions to use (my right handed relatives find it a LOT easier and safer for them to use)The chute is large, I was able to put in a half onion to slice easily (and even a decent size tomato too).This wouldn't be appropriate to slice such as carrots (celery, etc).All in all, mixed bag for me. Being a left handed, it's not intuitive like I would want, but it does the job well enough.( YES, can clean in dishwasher! That's the big selling point here as well)
