What a great buy! I tried and returned several supposedly airtight coffee canisters from Amazon; few of them, despite their assertions, gave me confidence that their seals were as tight as they should be, and of the ones with good seals, there was too much empty space in contact with the beans. I bought two GAIKALLON canisters--one for my light beans and one for my dark beans--and was pleased from the outset by the sleek design, the internal lid with tight-fitting silicone seals, the ability to push down the internal lid so that the beans weren't exposed to a big air space inside the canister, and the ease of use. These canisters are everything that the others should have been! I have used and refilled these canisters several times, and each time that I get beans to grind I appreciate the beauty and functionality of the units. They work exactly as advertised, the seal is great, they're easy to open and close, and they add beauty to my day!

Excellent for storing ground coffee
It stores about 10 days worth of ground coffee. I initially tested it by filling half way with ground Yirgacheffe coffee for 21 days. The coffee maintained the same bright acidity and floral aroma. I’ve since learned to fill half way as each time I remove valve, air gets in the cannister.
