These bags are great...it works with our caribou sealer very well. This is truly a game changer for my home..now food won't go bad as fast..huge plus reusable obviously...I feel I got a good deal for 20 bags
These Vekniqo vacuum seal bags are food safe and help prolong the freshness of food items. The 2 sizes provide versatility and seal well using my handheld vacuum sealer. They have a textured side and a smooth side, not flimsy and have a good thickness. The zip top seal is secure, especially using the clips meant to close the zip before the vacuum sealer.I use for many items including, cheese bricks, vegetables, and anything I might reopen daily or after a few days, as well as short term freezer storage. They can be washed which I do by hand. They are reusable for a number of times. For me valve seal bags are for more temporary storage compared to the heat seal bags for longer freezer storage, but both types serve their purpose well and a must have for me to keep both at hand.
Folks, I have always been a big fan of food storage bags in which one can remove all of the air, creating an airtight and hermetically sealed closure. This is the same concept as removing air from mason jars for long food storage.Although I am indeed a very big fan of mason jars and utilize them in varying sizes, there are some things that just will do better in an airtight bag, as opposed to an airtight glass jar. They're serving the same purpose, but in slightly different ways.Within my photos, I am supplying an example for you. I have cut up a large head of purple cabbage. The wedge that I am showing on the plate is much too large to go inside a mason jar. However, by leaving the cabbage wedge... in wedge form (instead of thoroughly cutting and chopping) it will remain fresh for a longer period of time, once in an airtight container.Utilizing this method I have had vegetables remain completely fresh and edible for more than a month after having been cut and placed in an airtight container. This is where these bags really shine... One can easily fit oddly shaped fruits and vegetables (all manner of food items actually) inside these generously sized bags and efficiently remove the air, greatly extending the life of the food within. This package of these finely and uniquely crafted vacuum seal bags includes a plentiful 20 bags in total. 10 bags: 10.2"×11.0" and 10 bags: 11.8"×13.0"; all of which are BPA free and made of food grade PE material. These vacuum sealer bags are safe and can be used with confidence. They are completely washable, reusable, and sport a highly unique and greatly improved "food bag air valve".As I mentioned, I've been a fan of these sorts of bags for many years. One of the drawbacks that I have personally experienced while using these bags, is that the place in which the vacuum sealing device makes contact with the area on the bag (the spot the machine must be placed, in order to extract air...) was nothing more than a very thin piece of plastic with a special valve design in the center, allowing the extraction of air. When I say this area is thin, for context, perhaps as thin as folded parchment paper. The problem has always been that if there is any water or other liquids within the bag, once the air has been extracted to a point in which no air further remains in the bag, the vacuum sealer will begin to extract water through this small port in the bag. One has to be careful to watch for this and turn off the machine at that point swiftly. It has always been a minor, small annoyance, but something that one must be careful and resolute about in order to not get moisture into one's machine. These new vacuum storage bags have an entirely different spin on this concept, and it is in fact quite superior! Each of these bags have a new sort of raised freestanding plastic valve that the air extractor attaches itself to. This creates a far more effective method in order to extract air from the bag and also prevents this problem of liquids and moisture creeping up through the valve and into one's machine... by creating a barrier... In short, problem solved! These new bags are considerably thicker than the previous bags I had been purchasing. Additionally they have a double closure zip system at the top and a textured feel to the material of the bags themselves. This textured exterior makes gripping and holding on to a bag, even with wet hands, safe and reliable. The significantly greater thickness of each bag will further promote the longevity of the food within once the air is removed. With a five layer, high density oxygen barrier membrane, these amazing bags can really efficiently extend the freshness period of your food. These bags are both refrigerator and freezer storage safe. To really put a bow on the level of toughness of these bags... they can be flash frozen to -20°C (this equals -4° in Fahrenheit... Water freezes at 32° F).There’s no information on whether these bags are microwave safe, or if they can be used for "sous vide" cooking. This is a French term which actually translates to "under vacuum". It basically involves placing food (oftentimes vacuum sealed) into a plastic pouch... and then cooking it in a temperature controlled water bath. This cooking method is well known for producing consistently cooked food that is tender, juicy, and cooked evenly from edge to edge. It would be very nice if these bags were able to be utilized in that manner. At the time of this writing, I do not know whether or not they are intended for that use, but with five layers within their construction... it might be wise to contact the manufacturer and inquire if you favor cooking in this way.Overall, this is a superior newer take on a tried and true product.I love these new bags and intend to use them daily for quite a long time to come.Highly recommended!✅
I got these hoping they'd work with the type of vacuum sealer I have, which is not the one it says, and it worked perfectly. The only difference is that my sealer didn't automatically shut off when done like it does for the ones that are designed for it. They are easy to both close and seal. The seal holds so you don't have to worry about air getting in and food spoiling. I have no used these in the freezer yet as I swales shelf stable food so I cannot attest to how well they hold up there. The bags are thick so not easy to puncture. I love that they come in different sizes as sometimes I was to divide items into smaller portions and set allows that.
I've got a brand name portable vacuum sealer that works great but the bags are not cheap and they don't come with very many. I've tried other bags that claim they work but they would not seal properly and no air would come out of it. These bags are great! They come in 2 sizes, both bigger than a gallon and quart, and they are comparable to the thick vacuum seal bag rolls you get with the more heavy duty counter top vacuum sealer. I tested these and they did seal and I was able to get the air out. I also left it out for a few hours to make sure the air didn't see back in. It remained fully vacuum sealed. These are also inexpensive enough to toss after IMO. I really hate washing these because it's a pain in general and I get a little weirded out about washing it knowing I may not have gotten all the germs and bacteria out and I don't want I be sealing my next foods in with it. But thats just me. Either way, these are great. Would recommend.
These vacuum storage bags showed up today and I was able to use them today my grocery order came in and I was stealing for the freezer and other storage needs.I absolutely love being able to remove all the air from the package and preserve something for a longer period of time I'm single so if I buy a large package of something I need to be able to keep it fresh saving myself money especially in this day and age but I'm not a wasteful person either. The zipper closure system works really well it was very easy to close it as well as removing the air it was very easy to move the air from the bag. Overnight my dry goods stayed air tight, the banks that don't hold overnight obviously are not something you should trust not even in the freezer it'll be frozen but still get freezer burned!I could see these bags worth equally as good for dry goods as well as moist goods. So that's in my opinion is a good product to purchase.Thank you for taking a moment with me to read my review I hope this product helps you save some money as well with your shopping and storage.
