Perfect for a single person!
This is my first experience with a vacuum sealer and I must say I'm impressed. I've sealed ground meat,steaks, chicken breasts,fish,dry cereal, beef jerky, and chocolate candy! Everything sealed nicely with no sign of any air bubbles left behind. The machine itself is very portable. It seems very well built and after reading the manual it is very simple to use. I live alone and like to cook and have leftovers that sometimes spoil. This item definitely solves my problem!

Good suction power and nice compact design
I've had a vacuum sealer for many years, and I am totally spoiled because I vacuum seal all my meats and other items and they last forever. It was time for a new one and I haven't had an updated one in a few years. This one works great and has more features than my previous one. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try the cannister seal because I didn't have a cannister.But with sealing meats and food in bags, it works great. I even tried a box of spaghetti - still in the box. It was able to vacuum it, box and all.It came with a bag of white pads and I couldn't figure out what they were for. They are not mentioned on the box or in the manual. By looking at the Amazon listing, I found out it was to absorb meat juices. That solves the only annoyance I always had with vacuum sealers. When vacuuming fresh meat, it sucks a bit of the juice out. The units are designed with a channel where the juices go, so they do no harm, but the channel is a little bit hard to clean. And, often you forget afterwards, so at some point, you open it up and the channel is dirty with dried out juices. The unit has a "moist" option to limit the amount of fluid that is sucked out with wet foods, but at least with my past units, I found that option doesn't work 100% and moisture still leaks out. So the moisture pads are a great solution.I looked on their store page on Amazon and you can buy the pads there, as well as rolls. I didn't find any cannisters and I'm not sure if the ones from all the different manufacturers are compatible or if you have to buy a specific type. I could not find any info on this.The unit also has a built in cutter which is convenient for cutting bags to size if you don't have the right size bag, or just prefer to buy rolls instead of bags. However, it does not have built-in storage for the rolls in the unit, which would have been a nice convenience.

Small but mighty.
I have a brand name vacuum sealer that I have had for several years. I make and gift freezer meals and it is one of my most used kitchen tools. This vacuum sealer has a couple advantages over my more expensive sealer that I am currently using. Fist of all it is light weight and doesn't take up much space. It is a little bit slower when it vacuums the air out but it seems to be pretty powerful. You do have to make sure the sealer bar "clicks" into place and you have to release it when finished sealing, it is very easy to do but my other sealer does this automatically. This sealer makes it easy to put a second seal on your bags. This is a good "starter" sealer or "budget" sealer that will do everything you need it to do and be space saving as well.
