was skeptical about buying something like this. these things are better than rolls i use to buy. best find ever. super strong leak proof freezer proof seals amazingly. have not had one tear yet. i use these constantly for everything. food has not gone bade or got frost on it.
I often buy vacuum seal bags on Amazon for my vacuum sealer. I use more of these than I probably should but they are amazing for marinating meats, keeping away frostbite, portioning, etc... When I went to re-order the bags I had ordered previously, they were no longer available. When these arrived, I was extremely surprised, in a good way. They are thick and sturdy bags, work well in my machine and have a really nice touch - each bag has a notch on the end that you seal. This is extremely helpful because after storing and you are ready to open the bag, you just tear the notch and don't even need a knife or scissors. Great value!!
I originally only bought 100 bags to test. These bags are so convenient. My Food Saver V2490 is about 15 years old and I had no issues with these bags. I like these so much I bought three different sizes and 400 of the 6" x 10" and 8" x 12" and 200 of the 11" x 16" - though these big one I don't use much. I still use the Food Saver box setup, but not nearly as often. These bags are definitely worth the money.The one item to note. These bags are thicker than the name brand, which is nice if you have ever dropped the name brand ones and found out later that the bag got punctured and the food got freezer burned.The downside is that these bags need to always be sealed on wet and not dry setting. Sometimes I even have to double seal just for safety.If you are doing wet items I sometimes double seal in exactly the same spot. I then pull out the bag and dry the inside lip and then seal again on wet in a different spot. It can be a bit more work, but I do like the better price and thicker bags. Hope this helps.
I bought these hoping they were as good as the "brand name." I used them this weekend for flour, rice, and beans and they did well. I had trouble with only one bag, but it was when I was working with flour and I think the seal wouldn't work due to the flour escaping from the area I was trying to seal. So, I would say they are great because the problem was most likely me and not the product.
I was skeptical about this purchase simply because of price, they do work but better on some foods than others. I sealed tuna steaks that didn't seem to be that wet but my sealer pulled alot of water from them which got caught at the top of the bag and on several attempts stopped the bag from sealing properly, I did manage to get them all sealed after several tries. The bags do have ridges on one side but they don't seem as large as the ones on a food saver bag hence the liquid reaches the top of the bag easier (that is only my opinion). I also sealed ground beef which worked flawlessly. I bought both quart (8"x12") and pint bags (6"x10"), the quart bags surprised me because they are larger than I expected. I was easily able to seal 1 pound portions of ground beef in a pint bag. Not a big deal but others have also mentioned the lack of an area to label the food, I did mark the smooth side of the bag with permanent marker so far it seems to work. The material seems to be quite thick, they work in my food saver brand sealer, they are really convenient because one side is already sealed, and I would buy this product again.
The bags are really good. Easy to use and the quality is great.
This is the third time ordering these bags. They are just as strong as the name brand at a more reasonable price. If you are hesitant, don't be. These are a 5 star product.
