This works so much better than the cheaper plastic peelers. However, although it is firm in the hand, and sharp enough to peel raw beets with ease, one must be careful as it can slice a finger or hand as easily as it does vegetables. Hold it carefully. Treat it with the same care when using as one would do a mandolin without safety gloves. It’s a great product but needs sensible usage. I’d buy again.beets

It's a good peeler

This is an expensive vegetable peeler. I've only used it a few times but it seems worth the money. It's very sharp and feels good in your hand. The handle is longer than the usual peeler and that's a good thing. Now we will see if it holds up. Even the cheap peelers are sharp in the beginning.Maybe the price would be lower if the peeler was not packaged as if it were an Apple product!
