Single Serve Coffee Maker Has Option of Using Ground Coffee or Capsules; Choice of Ounce Sizes
I ordered this Single Serve Coffee Maker in Black & in the maker size so I can choose to brew either a 6, 8, 10, 12 or 14 ounce mug, cup or tumbler of coffee. I think it's the largest maker I could order, & I love it because it gives me those size options! The pieces were easy to disassemble to wash them all by hand before using it for the first time, & I followed the instruction booklet directions to cleanse the inside of the maker before brewing any coffee in it. The instruction booklet is complete. as well as easy to read & follow. I had the maker ready to use in about 20 minutes or less. I think the control panel is especially convenient - it has blue illuminations of its control buttons. It has an On/Off button; an Add Water/Clean button; a Size icon button; the Brew command button, & the ounce buttons from which to choose. My husband & I shared the first mug of coffee I brewed, which was freshly ground which I made myself especially for our first trial of this coffee maker. (I really appreciate the option of using my own ground coffee or a coffee capsule in this maker.) I used a level tablespoon of my ground coffee for one, 8-ounce mug as recommended in the booklet. We both thought it was good, although we like our coffee a bit stronger, so the next time I make it, I'll use 1 1/2 tablespoons per an 8-ounce mug. I am looking forward to making my own ground blends to use in my cups of coffee, because I enjoy coffee blends while my husband does not. Thus, it was one of my reasons for ordering this single serve maker. This machine appears to me to be well made, & I see no rough places on it; all of its compartments snap into place securely, & it does not seem to be made of cheap or flimsy materials. Given the 5 choices for different sizes of ounces of coffee, as well as the option to use coffee capsules or ground coffee, plus all of the great options in the control panel, in my opinion this single serve coffee maker is a good value. I enjoy using it, & I look forward to doing so for many years to come with proper care & cleaning of this maker. I recommend it.

Convenient, Brews Well and Quickly, A Bit Loud, Mine Had Cracked Water Reservoir, Very Pricey
This single serve coffee maker comes with a removable water reservoir that holds enough for more than one brewing, an insert for a K-cup compatible capsule, another insert with built-filter for adding your own coffee grounds, and an easy-to-read instruction manual. There is also a removable drip tray insert where you place your cup for brewing. It has settings for multiple cup sizes, (6 oz, 8 oz, 10 oz, 12 oz and 14 oz), and the set up and use is fairly simple to understand. The unit is basically sturdy, and good quality – however – the one I received has a long, curved crack on the outside back of the water reservoir. It hasn’t gone all the way through the plastic, and after several brews has not leaked – but I don’t know how long I can expect it to last before it will need to be replaced. The controls take a bit of getting used to. You have to press firmly above the text labels, and it’s not obvious where – you kind of have to keep pressing till it lights up. First you press “Power”, then press “Size” until it hits the size you want, then press “Brew” to start the brewing. It doesn’t take long to brew a cup – I used the 10 oz setting for my 16 oz cup and it filled it to just about ½ inch from the brim in about 2 minutes. I do recommend putting a measuring cup in the holder when running the pre-use cleaning cycles in order to determine the correct size for your cup(s). I ran a pure water brew for each size it has, and found that the 14 oz actually comes closer to 16 oz, but the rest of the sizes were more accurate. It does brew kind of loudly, but not so bad that it was uncomfortable. I mostly use my own home ground from whole bean coffee in the insert with the built-in filter, but did purchase some K-cups to see how they worked. Both methods work just fine, the inserts go in and out easily, and it’s easy to dump the grounds and rinse the insert with the filter. I found the coffee to be the perfect temperature, and no grounds filtered through into my cup. All in all, this is a pretty decent single serve coffee maker. I do think it’s over priced compared to other, similar single-serve coffee makers with the same features, and I am disappointed with the cracked water reservoir, but I only took off 1 star for these issues, because overall it does make a good cup of coffee quickly.
