Great Hand Leverage on this Granny Fork

I purchased this item to mix dips. (I remember my parents always reaching for their "granny fork" growing up.) I thought the item might be too unwieldy given it's overall length. I was pleasantly surprised at the grip length, balance, and sturdiness. The one-piece metal extends completely to the bottom edge of the handle. It is proving to be a very effective hand mixing tool. I can also see how well this will complement carving/slicing cuts of meat. My only criticism is that the top and bottom wood handles don't fit perfectly flush 'sandwiching" the metal handle. (You can feel the metal's edge with your fingernail.) However, this minor finding doesn't impact performance or grip comfort. Overall, a solid recommendation.

Nice Fork. Terrible packaging.

Both the 10 inch and 12 forks are very high quality and look nice. I use this type of fork all the time for cooking, so I'm glad to find these and look forward to using them for a long time. HOWEVER, I had to order twice to get both: they are "packaged" in a completely inadequate little plastic bag without any box and, of course, one was missing when the first order arrived.

Great kitchen tool!

I originally purchased the Granny Fork because my hubby was using our nice silverware close to the stove burner and I was always concerned that he would damage it. I saw this long fork here on Amazon and bought it for him. It’s now become his favorite cooking tool! It’s long enough to keep your hands away from the heat and very well made. This is one of those tools that we should have purchased a long time ago! Absolutely recommend it! Very pleased with my purchase!

Meh!

The 10 inch is a regular, 7 inch fork, 3 prong fork with a longer handle. The 12 inch fork, which obviously protrudes farther than the 10 inch fork can't withstand the rigors of shipping. The two end prongs bent onto the center prong. This wouldn't have happened if the item were sent in a box and not a plastic bag. This isn't the first time. Listen, Amazon, time to phase out the plastic bags. I hope that the censors forward this complaint to the shipping dept.
