Very nice wok--but a little on the heavy side

Woks are the best tool for making stir-fries or cooking Chinese food, which I do quite a bit, if only because most of the Asian greens wilt a lot, so they need a ton of space initially, which woks provide. In addition, I’m stuck with an electric stove, which necessitates a flat-bottom and definitely doesn’t work as well as a gas one.Enter the WANGYUANJI 12.6” Wok with Lid, Flat Bottom Nonstick Wok Pan for Induction Cooktop, which is a great wok for my situation. The size is suitable for a small family or couple, or even more people if you’re only cooking stuff that doesn’t shrink much, like harder veggies, meats, or rice. The build is good—thick enough to heat quickly but not too thin as to feel cheap. It’s got a bit of heft, so it probably isn’t the greatest for people who don’t have good arm strength or can’t lift heavy things, though the side handle helps. It’s intended for high heat and performs well under those conditions—no finishes or layers that don’t expand/contract at the same time/rate that end up flaking off. Seasoned properly and with some use, the interior becomes non-stick and slick.I appreciate the additional tools too: the spatula’s curved edge fits the contours of the wok perfectly, which is a nice touch. The traditional scrubber is great as well, as is the steel wool pad. I don’t usually use the lid (you don’t need it for stir-fries generally), but it’s nice to have in case I’d like to steam or braise something in it.Decent price for the set, too. I’d buy this set again if I needed to, especially if you don’t have access to an Asian market nearby, since it’s possible to get a wok for slightly cheaper there and there’s a larger selection.

The best part is the workmanship, and the directions.

I'm a novice at stir-fry. I followed the directions included to prepare this wok for use. I have to pat myself on the back. My stir-fry came out fantastic. I have since used this wok multiple times for different dishes. After every use, I cleaned it as directed and re-seasoned it to prep for the next use. I've cooked for four with this wok and everyone loves the results. I love this wok, and want to thank WANGYUANJI for the manufacturing and the directions. I would never have tried this on my own, but now, I can.

Just okay

I got this to replace another wok I'd had for years. The quality of this one is not as good despite it being more expensive. I followed the instructions for using it and ended up with stuck on food. Never had this problem in my old woke. The interior is also dimpled instead of smooth which makes cleaning it a pain. I'll be donating this one to the thrift store and going back to my older more reliable brand.

Good quality wok

We’ve had this wok for about two months now and my husband loves it. He does most of the cooking and the size is great since he tends to cook a lot in one setting.This wok is a bit heavier than what we’re used to, but then again, we never had a good quality wok before. After seasoning it, cooking with the wok was easy. Heat distribution is good and food doesn’t stick to it - just as long as it’s seasoned properly and the correct temperature is being used. We also love the spout design, it’s more efficient when transfer liquids from wok to dish.I love that it also comes with accessories. It has a lid, spatula, removable handle (great for easy storage in cabinets), steel scrubber, and cleaning brush. Everything you would need is already included with the package.

Great wok. Decent price. Very sturdy.

So far this is one of the best woks I have had. Works well to cook veggies or fried rice, etc., so it is very versatile. It is very thick and heavier than others I had in the past, but that is OK.Also, after a few month with mild use, I have not had issues with it getting scratched although I do not use metal utensils when cooking on nonstick cookware. Even those new tech that say that don't have harmful stuff in them I don't 100% trust so I stick to wood scrapers and make sure I cure my pots and pans well.

Nice wok with nice accessories 4.6 stars!

I've owned a few carbon steel woks over the years but this one, in combination with the included accessories, is the best so far. It's nitrided but still requires an initial seasoning to help build a durable non-stick surface. The included accessories (brush, steel scrubber and metal spatula) are GREAT to have. The steel scrubber would only be for really tough stuck on food which I hope to avoid with proper seasoning, use & care but it's nice to have just in case. The real star of the show is the metal spatula which does a great job in keeping the surface clear and the food moving.I have an induction cooktop that, combined with this steel wok, create a very responsive cooking environment. You can cook very quickly with focused heat intensity the way a wok is intended. My pre-season was a single layer high heat avocado oil applied with a paper towel then put the whole thing (handle removed) in the oven at 350 for an hour. It's a great first layer before cooking. After that, you just need to practice with movement, shape and size and it's very easy to cook with. Cleanup is a breeze with just scraping off any remaining food residue and putting it away (as this builds the seasoning).I look forward to using this wok for years to come!Recommended
