Solid, Well-Built WDT Tool That Improves Consistency
This esspresso tool does exactly what it’s supposed to do and well. The stainless steel needles are thin enough to properly break up clumps and evenly distribute grounds in the portafilter. After adding this to my workflow, I immediately noticed fewer channeling issues and more consistent extractions. My shots have been more balanced and repeatable. The build quality is impressive. The aluminum alloy handle feels solid and substantial in the hand, and the 18-facet diamond-cut design isn’t just for looks it provides a secure, anti-slip grip. It feels like a premium tool, not something lightweight or flimsy. The included stand is another big plus. It has a nice weight to it, so it doesn’t tip over easily, and it keeps the needles protected when not in use. It also helps keep the espresso station looking clean and organized instead of having the tool rolling around on the counter.Assembly is simple, and I appreciate that they include four replacement needles. Swapping or customizing the needle count is easy and doesn’t require tools. Cleaning is quick too just a rinse under water and it’s good to go.Overall, this is a durable, well-designed WDT tool that genuinely improves puck prep and shot consistency. If you’re serious about dialing in your espresso, this is a worthwhile addition to your setup.

Beautiful, but way overpriced for what it is and does
Functionally, this is a standard WDT tool. The 0.35mm needles break up clumps and help with distribution before tamping. It reduces channeling if your puck prep is already decent, and it performs about the same as most other properly spec’d WDT tools on the market. The 18-facet diamond-cut handle looks nice on the counter, and the weighted stand is a thoughtful touch. Build quality is solid, but none of that changes extraction compared to much less expensive options using the same needle thickness. I have seen WDTs made of cork that perform just as well as this one and are made by with far less.At the end of the day, this is a distribution tool with 0.35mm needles and a fancy body.If you’re building a visually cohesive espresso station and care about aesthetics, sure.If you’re focused purely on workflow and shot quality, there are far more reasonably priced WDT tools that perform identically and even outperform.Disclosure: This review is part of Amazon’s Vine Program, which provides products at a reduced cost in exchange for honest reviews (taxed as income). Good stand. Geometric diamond cut look.
Nice heavy base/holder. Won’t get knocked over easily. The actual tool fits well without any wiggle in the holder.Matte black color matches other Dioomod tools such as their tamper. They look great together. Most scales are also black, so it will be fairly easy to make an entire matching espresso station. The design is fairly geometric with lots of flat sides. The actuall WDT looks like that classic diamond cut. Comfotable to hold.Price is inline with similar WDT tools. There are 8 tines installed in a perfect circle and 4 spares. It’s really easy to open it and remove tines so you can have less than 8 if you want. The tines are fairly flexible.Works great in any basket. I’ve used it in both a 51mm and 58mm portafilter. You can’t really go wrong with it.

Solid feeling tool for better shots
This WDT (Weiss Distribution) tool does exactly what it should. The needles break up clumps fast and help even out the puck before tamping. I noticed fewer channeling issues and more consistent shots right away. The handle feels solid, and the diamond-cut design gives a secure grip. The base has a nice weight to it and feels substantial, not cheap or tippy. It stays put on the counter and protects the needles well. Easy to clean, easy to use, and built to last..they also include replacement needs which is a plus.

A nice tool
I am not an expert in the ways of espresso but my wife is, so I attached a video of her explaining the usage of this tool. She says it is pretty good. It feels very solid and "has a nice spread." It comes with spare needles in case the current ones get bent. It also has a very sturdy stand/case which prevents it from being damaged or stabbing somebody when not in use. The finish is very nice. In general the manufacturing seems about flawless to me.Generally speaking, this tool, in her words "help you to distribute grounds properly in your portafilter's cup. Prevents clumps and voids, to reduce channeling when pouring a shot."
