Perfect Pan for Half-Dollar/Bite-Sized Bundtini Cakes
I wanted a small Bundt pan to use to turn a signature cake with a ganache filling into a bite-sized treat for a wedding cookie table. This is perfect! The size is small - definitely bite-sized, about the size of a US half-dollar coin, so buyer beware. Because of the small size, it’s easy to overfill, but a small biscuit cutter was the perfect size to cut off any excess. Before ordering, I checked out reviews for this pan and for two brand-name pans, and found the same criticisms for every pan. I chose to order this one based because I got two pans for just a little more than the price of only one of the brand-name pans. I needed to bake 8 dozen bundtinis for the wedding, which meant I only needed to fill each pan twice to complete my project. I baked my bundtinis at 325 degrees for 8 minutes - came out perfectly every time. I based my baking temp on the recommended temp for a non-stick pan. I based the time on the recommended baking time for cupcakes and cut that time in half. Although the pan is non-stick, I coated the pan with cooking spray and the bundtinis came out easily. I don’t leave the pan sitting in water but wash and dry thoroughly after use, and have had no problems with rust as reported in other reviews. The shape of the bundtini is better defined if you fill each shape to just over half. The bundtini is less clearly defined when it’s overfilled. My bite-sized cakes look charming and taste great!
