AN INEXPENSIVE, QUALITY FOOD BAG....
After purchasing a vacuum food sealer, I knew that I would need additional vacuum bag material to seal my boatload of Rib Eye steaks bought on sale. This bag material is a durable 3.5 mils thick for the "clear" side with an overall thickness of 13.5 mils of which, 10 mils is the measurement of the "rippled side" with the vacuum channels. It seems to have the same flexibility and vacuum performance as the bag material that came with the vacuum sealer and a "normal" heat setting provided a perfect, total seal. The "square" rippled side provides for a very good vacuum channel for complete air removal. The 3.5 inch diameter of the rolls will probably not fit the bag storage compartment of most sealers, but, for the slight inconvenience of having to re-roll lengths into a smaller roll to fit, is no big deal. Just be sure to not re-roll too tightly to prevent wrinkles to keep the material flat. With such a good price for this bag material, you can/should make your bags a bit longer which will pay off when you may open a sealed bag to add spices to your food, then reseal to cook Sous Vide, without having to make another new bag. I cannot comment on the differences between this bag material vs a "name brand", but, as a new vacuum sealer user, it does a great job. The two 50 foot rolls will last for a long time and with the good performance of this brand, I'llll Beeee Baaack..P.S. This same brand does offer a "lite" version that is a bit thinner for a few dollars less, but, for me, this standard thickness bag will be my go-to bag for future use....
