Great kettle - no rust after months with our corrosive reverse osmosis purified water!
First of all - this truly is a kettle which does not rust. All other kettles I tried before did after just 2 months. The reason likely being that we filter our drinking water with a reverse osmosis system and that produces slightly acidic and quite corrosive water. This kettle holds its promise though and does not rust, not even in those harsh conditions. That is with the small exception of the tiny lid which sits on top of the spout. That piece does show rust. I usually fold it back, it has no function for me really. The design of this kettle is unique. Starting with that little lid on the spout, which is cute but I am not sure what the purpose is. One can keep it on the spout and when pouring it is not in the way and creates a bit a wider stream. I fold it up and out of the way.The whistle is in the lid and I can actually hear it clearly. Except when I fill the pot too full (it has a high water mark) or don't press the lid on properly. The handle stays cool as long as one is mindful and point the whistle, which is the hole in the lid, 180 degrees away from the hand or the steam which comes out there can hurt. The kettle is light weight and still looks robust. And yes, the opening is quite wide and it is easy to get a hand inside the kettle if needed.Overall I highly recommend this kettle for everyone who is filtering/purifying their water or otherwise has corrosive water. This kettle seems to be true 316 marine steel and does not rust.
