For Color Lovers -- Gorgeous but Does NOT Whistle!
I really relish deep, jewel-toned colors -- especially when metalic and shiny! I have already had the flatware that is multi-colored and irridescent like this tea kettle for many years and have gotten lots of compliments on them. They remind me of an oil slick you might find on the ground -- rainbow bright with colors seamlessly fading into one another. I was thrilled then, when I saw this tea kettle and I bought it to replace the ugly, drab, dull black one I had.This tea kettle is high quality in that the irridescent paint is evenly applied and flame proof and it is tightly crafted (no leaks or sputters when boiling). Unfortunately, despite its false marketing, it DOES NOT whistle! Additionally, the handle, while cool enough to touch on the top, will still require an oven mitt or other protection underneath, where your fingers wrap around. It is also fairly small (2 quarts, 5" wide) so it would be best to put it on a smaller burner.All in all though, I love it and it looks gorgeous in my kitchen (see pic).

Color and function
The shiny colors are brilliant! The kettle heats up extremely fast, within minutes depending on how much water is needed and the burner temperature. No matter the water level it does not whistle. It sounds more like a low rumble. Very impressive! Your friends and family will be in awe. I love this tea pot!!!

Nice Kettle
The color on the tea kettle is pretty good. One spot that's not as vibrantly rainbow, but that's to be expected with coloring like this. The whistle is nice, different than most people are use to with a tea kettle. It's a lower pitched hum, but loud. Less annoying to your ears with some of the ones I've experienced where it sounds like nails on a chalk board screen. The handle doesn't get hot at all! When in use, so that was nice not having to worry about burning my hand. The only thing that was a little startling, was if you let it whistle too long it'll spit the water out everywhere. So just don't let it sit too long on the hot burner when it's done to avoid that. Overall functions well and a very good tea kettle in my opinion and worth the money. It is a pretty decent size too I'd like to add.

Disappointed... very little volume on the whistle.. just a low hum.

Pretty but not very functional
I recently melted the lid of the tea kettle I've had for over 20 years because I got involved in a project upstairs, didn't hear the whistle and forgot I'd put the kettle on until the burning plastic smell reached me. Thankfully the only casualty was the kettle, but I needed a new kettle with a whistle that would wake the dead.This is not that kettle. It is very pretty, but if you put too much water in, when it boils it spews boiling water out of the spout, sometimes without ever whistling. If you don't have enough water it will boil dry, also without whistling. If you manage to get it just right, you might get a sort of low humming whistle. It's a nice sound but not something I'd hear from anywhere except the kitchen. Sometimes it humms very softly and then starts spewing water out of the spout. You can only fill it about halfway, and it's not a very big kettle to start with. It's tiresome having to refill the kettle every time I want a cup of tea. It's super pretty, but at the end of the day not worth the hassle.Tl;Dr Nice if you want a kitchen accessory and almost never actually need hot water
