Sturdy but dull bread knife

Cook including bread baking and cutting. This knife has a good weight its sturdy and well put together. Purchased the bread knife its left handed (Im left handed) had no idea I was purchasing a left handed knife which was great however it's dull. Tears my bread rather than clean cuts. I'm gonna try to sharpen it myself

Functional, premium-priced steak knife

This Japanese-style steak knife comes in a heavy box, packed with foam inserts and tip/heel guards. The top red insert does not seat with the foam cutout giving the packaging a non-premium feel so I would be hesitant to gift it. A sheath is not included.The knife is sharp and balanced. The bolster (between the handle and blade) is substantial and supportive. The handle sturdy and made of resin with a polished-marble design that I think may be variable across the line which would give each knife an element of exclusivity.The blade is sharp, but not overly...it doesn’t just slice through a flimsy sheet of paper, but makes quick work of meats, soft veggies and herbs. It was good , not great, at cutting harder foods like carrots.Priced on the high-end for similar single knives made in China, it is certainly attractive and functional out-of-the-box and should last a long time.

Beautiful Chef's Knife

I have a small collection of various chef's knives, and this is a beautiful addition.Extremely sharp, full tang, nice heft and ergonomics. Feels nice in my hand.Too early to see how long the edge will last, but it is made of very good steel, and looks as if it will be easy to sharpen when to time comes, as it does for all knives.If you're into making sushi at home, this has the perfect aesthetic.I keep my knives in a block or in a slotted wooden knife holder in a kitchen drawer, so the lack of a sheath is not an issue.

Sharp! But I wouldn't call it ergonomic

I'm not sure why the product title has the word Ergonomic in it. The handle, though gorgeous, is straight and not the least bit shaped to one's hand. I have other much cheaper knives that are more comfortable to hold because the handle is more contoured. If they didn't claim "ergonomic" then I wouldn't have docked a star. It's all about setting expectations.That said, this is a top quality knife. The edge is razor sharp and you can see the layers of steel. It's noticeably heavier than my other knives. It easily slices through tougher things.This knife would be an excellent gift because, not only is it pretty to look at, the box it comes in is super-fancy as well. I just wish it would have come with a sheath to store it in since it's so sharp.
