These are the best, inexpensive stainless steel tongs for reliable firm grasping especially over hot coals during BBQing. Long reach (16 inch pair)keeps your hands cool over hot coals as well. My husband has used this set of tongs while cooking for years and I finally got him a new one after rubber band we used to keep it together at the area you hold on to (has a rivet that started to rust) was getting well worn! After 20+ years! These are very sturdy and simple to clean. He refuses to use more expensive, poor grasping tongs we have tried in the past. Sturdiness:Years of reliable handling. Use:BBQ I hand all sorts of cooking.Size:16 inch great for reaching over hot coalsEase of cleaning:Simple design with no nooks or crannies to get into. Tongs open wide for easy cleaning. Versatility:Can use while cooking heavy steaks and ribs to delicate fish and small vegetable pieces .
These are the nicest tongs I've ever used. The metal is really thick and solid. Feels like they could last 50 years. It's such a mundane item but I felt like leaving a review just because they are just that good.
The Winco brand's "Coiled Spring Extra Heavyweight Stainless Steel Utility Tong" is a durable and versatile pair of kitchen tongs. It's well-made, easy to clean, and perfect for a variety of tasks. They are a bit pricey when offered at about $9 at the time of this review.Pros:Heavyweight: Made from thick, sturdy stainless steel for durability. Stronger and thicker than others.Coiled spring design: Provides good grip and tension for secure handling, but a challenge to clean as it's not easily accessible.12-inch length: Ideal for reaching into deep pots and pans or flipping large items.Scalloped edges: Offer a secure grip on food without tearing or puncturing.Dishwasher safe: Easy to clean and maintain.Cons:No locking mechanism: Some users may prefer tongs that lock closed for storage.Pricey.Not insulated -- so best to use with something to protect your hands. No hanging loop. A hanging loop is desirable for those who like to hang utensils.Limited size options: Only comes in 12-inch and 9-inch lengths. Here are some other things to keep in mind:Size: Consider what size you need before purchasing. The 12-inch length is good for most tasks, but the 9-inch option might be better for smaller hands or kitchens.Material: Stainless steel is a good choice for durability and ease of cleaning. However, if you're looking for tongs with a softer grip, or for use on non-stick pans you might want to consider silicone-tipped options.
Really nice high quality tongs for cooking. I use these for so many things in the kitchen. They are really thick stainless steel and they seem like they will last a long time. They grip things well and I am impressed with them. A must have kitchen gadget.
I often take a while to review products, I like to test out items thoroughly before leaving feedback. These tongs have truly earned 5 stars, & then some. When I first received these, my first thought was "Woah, they're heavy, yay!" Husband said they were exactly like the tongs chefs used in the restaurants that he worked at- tongs that would get thrown across the room, hit the wall, get a rinse & go right back to work without a flaw. I believe it.They are sturdy, have a solid grip, are easy to handle & keep closed around objects, are proven durable, gorgeous, & so daggum useful. I've used them to pick up cast iron pans out of fires, turn coals over, flip foil packages, turn sausages without tearing the casing, spin pizza pans in my conventional oven, fish out bones from stock pots before filtering the liquid, & whatever else comes to mind where I want to reach something hot. They keep a firm grip on food without being destructive, they are easy to handle, easy to clean. I store them on a hook on my wall, they cannot fit in my over-stuffed drawers & utensil barrels, but that's not a problem at all for me. After months of hard use, they still look & act like brand new. 100% satisfied with these & would highly recommend them.
Good quality, useful size- not too big, not too small.
