Handy 6.5" square skimmers for deep-fryer crumbs (set of 4)
I bought these to skim bits out of hot oil and lift small batches from a home deep fryer, and they do that job well. The mesh is fine, the square shape covers a lot of surface area, and the little stand is surprisingly useful.What I likedThe fine mesh catches small fried crumbs that otherwise burn and dirty up oil fast.The square head is great for fryer work — it sweeps a wider area than a small round spider.The built-in resting stand keeps the hot mesh off the counter when you set it down.Getting four in the pack is practical (one dedicated to fryer crumbs, others for blanching/straining, backups, etc.).Easy to rinse/clean — no moving parts or gimmicks.What could be betterThe handle is all metal (no real insulated grip), so it’s fine for quick skimming but I wouldn’t leave it resting over heat for long.The product page mixes in “try our new model” type graphics further down, which can be a little confusing if you’re just trying to understand exactly what you’re buying on this listing.At $39.99, they’re useful, but it’s still a pretty premium price for simple wire skimmers.Overall a solid set of square mesh skimmers that work well for fryer/oil cleanup and general straining, especially if you like having multiple on hand.
