Solid Addition To Any Kitchen
I’ve been using this thermometer for about two weeks now and it’s been a really nice addition to my kitchen. Before, I was using one of those old digital thermometer that you would have to hold. Well It finally broke on me, and I decided I would splurge a little and get a nicer thermometer. I had always wanted one of the nice thermometers with a probe but was always hesitant due to the price of them. I was pretty surprised when I saw how affordable this one was. What a serious upgrade that has been.Pros:-first I would say is affordability. When looking around I found a lot of similar wireless thermometers with probes like this one for over twice the price. This thermometer really has all the bells and whistles you need, I’m not sure what value those much pricer thermometers really bring to the table to make it worth twice as much.-being able to leave it in your food as you cook is one of the obvious selling points of this product but being able to select specific meats and have it alert you when the internal temperature reaches a chosen doneness is a nice quality of life upgrade.-the probe temperature reading is pretty fast and the probe itself is easy to clean-it charges quickly and from my experience the battery holds its charge pretty wellCons:-the probe has to stay within about 5ft of the base station that it comes with. If you wanted to keep the probe out on the grill and the station for it inside you’re probably going to run into issues. This might seem like a big downside but it can be entirely mitigated by using the app, which brings me to my next point. The I Don’t Knows:-You don’t necessarily have to use the app for this thermometer to use it. The base station has some limited functionality but to really get access to all the bells and whistles you will need to use their app. The app connects you to the base station effortlessly making it so you can check the temperature, adjust temperature thresholds, etc from a much larger range than that 5ft I mentioned. It hasn’t been an issue for me but just mentioning that if needing to use an app to get the most out of this is a dealbreaker.Overall I think this was a great buy. It has everything I need in a thermometer/probe and probably has more features I’ve yet to start using. It’s pretty affordable compared the more expensive thermometers while giving you a lot of the functionality those are going to give you anyway. Im pretty happy with my purchase and would recommend.
