I needed a dispenser for my Celtic salt and this one holds my pepper as well. It is very easy to use and I keep it near my cooking and baking. The little wooden spoon is perfect for measuring the right amount.
Very pleased with this two (2) compartment box. A gift to my daughter and family who have used it for salt and pepper; and, like that it has a spoon to use instead of fingers! It appears to be well made and easy to open and close.
This is a quality piece. Would definetly order again
This adorable salt cellar arrived in a cute cardboard box. Once you open the box, the cellar is enclosed in a thin plastic wrap. There was no damage to the product and all of the surfaces felt soft to the touch. There are nice grains that is visible on the wood and the the overall look of the cellar is indeed quite nice. As you can see, there is a resting spot for the spoon and opening the top reveals the two compartments. You can open one side or both. Even if you open one side, the spoon will not fall off from its resting spot.As noted earlier, the surface was free or any burrs and all edges were clean. That speaks volumes to the craftsmanship that went it to the finished product.I have fine salt on one end and coarse salt on the other. You can choose Salt/Pepper or any other combination. We did wipe the inside with a sanitizing wipe and letting it air dry for some time prior to filling up the compartments. I would also be curious to see if this can be washed on a regular basis. That is the one unknown. Not sure how long this will have to dry out prior to re-use. Just keep it away from water and use a sanitizing wipe once it is empty prior to a re-fill and you should be okay. This would also serve as an ideal gift for a family member or friend. My two thumbs up for this awesome salt cellar.
I like it has two sides (compartments) and the hinged approach. I like the cute little spoon. It is sufficient to hold enough salt, pepper, spices, etc. in either side so you do not have to refill it every day.The ladybug design works well, but could be slightly improved. As the spoon sits in the center of the two hinges, you have to remove it before opening the top. I think that there should be two spoons, and they should be imbedded into the top so you can open it without having to remove it and with two, there is no need to wipe it down going from on chamber to the other. Also, if you do not remove the spoon, the top does not open easily. I like to use these for finishing salts and other spice where a pinch is required, so the spoon is a little bit of a hindrance. Otherwise it is a very nice addition to anyone table.
The look of this fits in great with my kitchen. I love having a place to hold salt and pepper. It feels sturdy, and the capacity is actually surprising of how much it holds. I like that you have a special spot for the spoon so you won’t lose it. The best part is you can leave this out by the stove looking cute or tuck it away if you don’t want things on your counter. It’s nice to have this out while cooking. I feel like the wood will help keep items fresh as long as you keep it closed while not in use. The wood is smooth with no chips or rough edges to cause splinters. To clean it, which I don’t think would really be necessary, I just gave a little wipe down with a lightly damp cloth. Not soaking wet. Perfect as a housewarming gift or a Christmas gift for someone who loves to cook.
We got this salt cellar with two compartments to use for sea salt and cracked pepper, but it's great for storing any kind of seasonings. It's nice and impressive to use when pinching a bit to finish off the presentation of a meal. The spoon is a nice addition and I will use that sometimes if I need more than a pinch. You cannot slide open either side until you remove the spoon, which is kind of a pain since I won't be using the spoon most of the time. But I like the size of the box and the magnetic closure. This would also make a nice gift for your favorite cook. I recommend.
