Simple to use
I’ll go ahead and give this paper towel holder 4 stars, because it’s simple, it does its job, and I desperately needed one. Does it have a weighted base like the listing claims? Absolutely not. The entire thing weighs a mere 7 oz; I checked with my kitchen scale. I have spoon rests that weigh more than this whole paper towel holder.That said, it does its job. It holds paper towels. That’s pretty much the gist of it. It doesn’t really have one-handed operation, because it’s not weighted and it doesn’t have a second, shorter post next to the tall post the roll mounts on like some others do to help break off the towel at the perforation. However, it does have anti-slip feet stickers you add yourself, and that does keep it from sliding across the counter. It tends to work a bit better when the roll is still full versus when it’s mostly used and therefore lighter in weight.It was very easy to assemble and took just a couple of minutes to put together and add the stick-on feet. It’s very basic; just a bamboo base and a black post. I do like that it’s unassuming and uncomplicated to change out the roll. Nothing to unscrew at the top — you just pull off the old roll and pop on the new one. Easy peasy.

This is a decent paper towel holder especially the current price of $7.99. The base is made of a circular piece of wood that is roughly 1/4 thick. It only took a few seconds to assemble it. I liked that the screw that holds the paper towel rod underneath sits completely flush inside the wood base, as I’ve shown in a photo. This holder is on the lighter side, so when you pull a paper towel off, you will have to hold on to the top so it doesn’t tip over. It looks nice and nobody would ever know that it is so inexpensive by looking at it. I am pleased with the product with the only criticism being that it was a bit heavier to make it sturdier when pulling off a paper towel.
