Elevate your pizza-making experience with the Wooden Pizza Peel. This premium kitchen tool is crafted from sturdy pinewood, featuring a generous 16-inch by 14-inch blade and an 8-inch handle for optimal control and maneuverability. The tapered edge design allows for seamless sliding under pizzas, making it effortless to transfer your delicious creations from prep surface to oven and back.
Unlike metal alternatives, the wooden construction of this pizza peel helps resist heat transfer through the handle, ensuring comfortable handling while you create your perfect pie. With an overall length of 24 inches, it offers ideal reach for most ovens, and the convenient hanging hole in the handle enables easy storage when not in use.
To achieve the best results, be sure to dust the surface lightly with flour or cornmeal before use to prevent your dough from sticking. Maintenance is simple; just wipe it down with a damp cloth and treat it occasionally with food-safe oil to keep it in excellent condition. This peel is an essential addition for both home pizza enthusiasts and professional kitchens, combining functionality with a classic design that promises years of reliable use.

These come in a set of two, and were much bigger than I thought they were, which was a pleasant surprise. They are fairly heavy and incredibly thick and sturdy pieces of wood. They have a finish on them, so it doesn’t seem that they will hold bacteria as we use them or wash them or let them sit underwater for a minute. The woodgrain of them is beautiful. They are a little awkward to clean only because of the size. I have noticed that when I have food on it, the food doesn’t really slip and move around, somehow it has a decent grip on the food even though it is very smooth, and they also have the tapered edges just like in the picture.
These pizza peels are the perfect size for a home kitchen. They will hold a large pizza comfortably and make it easy to get it into and out of the oven without burning yourself or spilling pizza toppings everywhere. They are white pine and are unfinished and unsealed. The finish is a little rough, especially around the edges.I was a little disappointed by the finish. I have had a similar pizza peel in the past that was bamboo, and it was much smoother and had a tight grain. This one might get “cured” over time, but right now, it will absorb grease from the pizza and there is no easy way to clean grease or food particles from unfinished pine. I am also a little concerned about the possibility of splinters, as the edges are a little rough. For getting large pizzas into and out of the oven, this is the perfect size. The unfinished nature of the pine is a concern.
This pizza peel is a perfect size and shape for homemade pizzas, and the wood grain looks really attractive. I like that it has a hole in the handle so it’s ready to hang, and the thickness feels just right. However, the finish could use some improvement — the surface feels a bit unfinished and would benefit from a final sanding and a food-grade sealant or oil. You can't really see it in the pictures - you can just feel that it is rough when you run your fingers across. I added some bamboo oil myself, which but I don't think it is enough. These are a gift for my husband, and he may do a bit more finishing work.As-is, I think pizza grease and tomato sauce would likely stain the wood, which might be fine if you’re just going for function. But with a bit more polish, this could be a truly beautiful piece. For the price, I expected a little more smoothness and finish out of the box.
My kids love pizza (who doesn't), and we bake pizzas in our home oven probably a couple of times a week. My process has been to bake the pizza directly on the middle rack, then slide a baking sheet in next to it and use a spatula to scoot the pizza onto the sheet. Then I transfer it from the backing sheet onto a cutting board so I can slice the pizza without damaging my baking sheet. This Pizza Peel is a pretty simple design in basic unstained pine, but it is very useful. The leading edge is sharpened so you can slide it easily under the pizza. And, since it is wood and will not damage my knives or pizza wheel, I can just put this on the counter and slice the pizza right there without using a cutting board. Very useful, and makes me feel like a pro. There is a hole in the handle that you could tie a leather thong through, or potentially just directly slide over a nail or a hook to store it in the kitchen.
Ordered these wooden pizza peels for our new name brand pizza oven instead of the name brand option and wow am I blown away with the quality. These are professional. They are sturdy wood with a smooth finish and the perfect size. We even used one as a keepsake for my "Love You To Pizzas" Bachelorette party which was the best idea! The cost of these two peels is less than 1 of the name brand peels which I don't think could come near the quality as these two. BUY THESE.
The bundle arrived well-packaged, with both peels wrapped together and extra paper in between for protection. The box was a bit large, but perfectly sized to fit the peels securely. The peels are made of pine, which you can smell right out of the box. It’s a natural wood scent that dissipates quickly and isn’t unpleasant. Each peel feels sturdy and comes ready to use. The size and measurements are accurate, and the tapered edges make sliding under pizza easy. The 8-inch handle is a great feature—comfortable to hold and easy to maneuver—but the peel is large enough to grip on the sides if you prefer. While this set is a little more expensive than some others, the quality and size more than justify the price. Compared to similar products, I think this one offers the best value, especially since it’s a two-pack. If you enjoy making homemade pizza, this peel is a reliable, well-made tool that’s absolutely worth it.
