form and function

These pepper mils are fabulous. They are sleek and modern, but still warm because they are made with beautiful wood! They will suit all sorts of decor. They are very effective at grinding. These replaced a set I had for over 20 years and the first thing I disliked on these new ones is that the openings are smaller than my old one. Also, the center bar that screws the top on this one is flexible. So it is a little bit of work to hold the bar just right so that it stands in the middle while you pour the salt or pepper corn in. If you don't do it just right, the long screw won't align with the top. However, that is not a deal breaker for me. Having said that, I would still recommend these because they are all unique, beautiful and once you get the salt and peppercorns in, they work bautifully.

Durable and sleek

Like others have said these are pretty nice, the metal parts seem heavy and the wood seems like good quality. I replaced a broken wooden pepper grinder that had plastic parts, what’s important is this has metal and ceramic even where the screws are at the bottom so I think these will be very durable and last a long time. Makes a good grind on peppercorns and salt, take a chance and buy them I think they’re a good purchase.

This is a beautiful grinder and puts out great ground pepper. Bought in February, stopped working in May. Used it every day, so maybe it is not able to withstand regular usage. Unfortunately, it is unfixable.

Works very well, holds a lot, looks nice

I have been looking for a good pepper grinder for ages and had almost given up that they were made anymore. I've even splurged and tried very expensive brands---that turned out to be no better than the $12 ones that stop working after a couple of years. These hold a good amount of peppercorns and salt, and that's important to me because I cook every day and hate to be constantly refilling the pepper. They are easy to fill and feel good in the hand when using. They're sturdy, too. The grinder grinds the pepper well, I haven't had to struggle and fight with it like I have with some others. And there's no plastic on the outside of them to peel off and look terrible in a few months. I've been using these constantly every day for several months now and have no complaints. I have the feeling they will hold up over time. This mid-range priced set is better so far than the big brand named ones I've paid double for in the past. My daughter got a set, too. She's a foodie, always cooking and using them, and she loves them, too.
