Unfinished Wood 2 Pieces Nested Trays with Handles

These lightweight trays can have multiple uses but are unfinished and made of very light materials. The set of two trays arrived in good condition and are well constructed with angle butt corner joints, and appears to be a butt joint joining the bottom panel to the side rails. Since they are unfinished and I do not plan a color stain, it will allow me to run a bead of glue all around the inside joints to reinforce the joinery, and when dry, apply a clear coat or two for a suitable finish.The trays will be very functional for my use to serve a beverage or light meal, but the light construction will not support much weight.These trays are a good value if light weight materials and butt joint construction will meet your needs, and especially if you can invest the time and money for a suitable finish. The size is great, they look good and I can recommend with the stated reservations.

Splinters and defects

The material and build quality of these two wooden trays are very poor. They are lightweight and pretty decent, but can we stand some weight? The problem with these that I have right upon opening was the splinters. I got splinters in my finger right away when I was getting it out of the package. The wood also had some strange residue in the middle of one tray. And both trays had glue residue on the sides and corners. I would definitely not recommend these trays for their use in Montessori play for kids. They may be utilized by adults in other settings.
