A daily reach
I got this because I wanted a simple, sturdy tool specifically for baking and everyday kitchen tasks. I use it for mixing sourdough starter, scraping bowls, and stirring ingredients while cooking. I like it because it feels comfortable in the hand and is easy to control during use. The wooden spurtle has a smooth finish, a solid yet lightweight feel, and a slim shape that reaches the edges of jars and bowls well. It could also be used for stirring sauces or serving from smaller pots. Overall, it’s a good value item.

Great shape for variety of uses.
I just love a spurtle. This one is a beautiful burl wood and really high quality. This shape is very versatile and wonderful for flipping tortillas or sandwiches. It's also great for scraping starter out of a sourdough crock. If you've never tried a spurtle you should. I have replaced almost all my other utensils with a variety of them.

Its a Spurtle!
I had never heard of a spurtle, but wanted to give this item a try. The wood is lightweight and the tool is thin enough that stirring or mixing food is manageable. If you're into organic type products and want something unique to display and use in your kitchen, this spurtle is a pretty good value option compared to come others Ive come across.

Perfect for sourdough!
I got this specifically for sourdough and it’s been really nice to use. The bottom edge comes to smooth point, which makes it great for scraping dough and working around the sides of bowls without damaging anything. It feels solid in the hand and well made.Since it’s wood, I’d definitely recommend hand washing only to keep it in good shape. Overall, it’s a simple tool but works exactly how it should and I’m glad I added it to my sourdough setup.

Absolutely LOVE this!
When I described this item to my husband, he said “Can’t you just use a big spoon?”… No. Spoons bend when you’re trying to stir up your sourdough starter. The rectangular shape also ensures you can scrape the corners of your vessel. I use it to scrape down on the edges of my starter, too, to clean up the jar a bit. I don’t buy many accessories for bread making. If I had three items for my sourdough adventures, this would be among the three. Great wood too! Smooth, cleans easily, no weird smell.

Versatile wooden kitchen utensil
There is a social media content creator that I follow for cooking content and she mixes almost everything with a wood spatula, similar in style to this one. I've been curious about it, so I had to try it for myself. This one is not as large or wide as hers, but it's been a great size for me to get a feel for it and I'm enjoying it so far. I've been wanting to get away from utensils made of other materials and make the switch to wood - this is also a great starting point for that. I don't currently make my own sourdough, but I have interest in it, so it's good to know that this size seems to be specifically recommended for that purpose. What I love most about it is how versatile it is in the kitchen - mixing, scraping, stirring, etc.
