This set consists of a thick, round spoon and a thinner, angular-shaped paddle. Both paddles have been crafted from high-quality rosy-colored wood that has been shaped evenly and sanded to a smooth finish. They are substantial enough in thickness to last for some time. Each paddle has a hole drilled in the handle for hanging. Both paddles were smooth to the touch and comfortable to handle. I found that the spoon-shaped scoop crushes a lot of the rice in my rice cooker. I think this happens because it's a very thick spoon. The angular-shaped paddle is thinner and does not crush the rice.I noticed that the residual rice dried and stuck to the paddles, and it was difficult to remove when I washed up after dinner. I find it easier to remove the dried rice from the plastic paddles I have used in the past. Despite this, I would still choose a wooden paddle over a plastic paddle, as it is a better choice for your health and the environment. As with any wooden utensil, I would not recommend leaving these paddles to soak in water, as this may cause the wood to split. I was able to remove the dried rice with some scrubbing and patience. In the future, I will rub oil into my paddles regularly to care for them. I hope the oil will reduce the amount of rice that sticks to the paddles.
I love wooden cooking utensils and I am a BIG fan of the slanted paddle/spoon/spatula so that was the main reason I decided to try this set. The quality feels great, super sturdy and at least mine had no quirky wood defects or anything that might compromise performance. I ordered the shorter set and it is true-to-size and simply perfect for a lot of daily cooking tasks. Particularly sautéing and mixing/serving rice dishes. For people that commented on stickiness, wooden utensils need some love every once in a while, same as cutting boards. Giving them a good clean/dry, buffing them, and giving them a light mineral oil coating will do wonders for not just the performance of your wooden utensils, but also their longevity as it holds off any food remnants that might invite bacteria or induce wood rotting. I really liked this and found them to be great for how fairly priced they are.
These were okay, they are a bit shorter than most utensils of this nature but are sturdy enough. I washed mine by hand and they looked nice, pretty much like the picture. I do think they are a bit overpriced for what you get.
Well made utensils that are well sealed. They have a shorter handle but work well regardless. Easy to wash, I did run through dishwasher top rack and they're fine. The hanging holes were not sanded down so their is a bit of roughness inside those which does not affect the use at all.
Well made and smoothly finished. No splinters in your pasta lol. They do have short handles, so no deep pots. I've put them in the dishwasher several times now. No damage. Easy to get clean. Handle has a hole if you prefer to hang for easy storage.
I'm swapping out plastic for wood or metal in the kitchen and these wooden rice paddles are perfect. They are solid wood, have a nice handle and a good size to the paddle for scooping and mixing rice. They are both short so I can't see myself using them for cooking or other jobs but I do like them for their purpose. They are easy to clean and I have no complaints.
