As for how long it will last we should see, it doesn’t seem like the product does well being submerged in water for too long or the wood finish might end up swelling over time. But so far so good.Update: took 2 stars out. Although it seems practical at first, it will warp from water cleaning. Meaning it will absorb water when doing dishes over time and eventually the wood part will bubble up. After a few weeks my tongs have bubbled up and the material has softened almost like it will rot over time. There doesn’t seem to be protective coating for the faux wood to last.

Nice looking tongs for the money!

These tongs are well built and work great for serving a salad out of a wood bowl. The lock on the end holds the tongs firmly closed. Make sure you wash them well, as there was a fair amount of tannins/walnut oil that came off the first time I washed them. They are nicer looking than a set of bare metal or silicone tongs.
