A bit high
Compared to what you get from the world of hunting and pocket knives, I think most of the major kitchen knife brands are... not a super great bargain. This line from Wusthof is no exception, except for the annoying fact that it is "just right" in so many ways. They look nice, they feel nice (the right combo or rounded/flat, and overall shape), and while the steel is not too fancy (better steel could be made both harder and stronger), it does have a good balance of fine-edged smoothness without losing all of its "bite" as can happen with steels which are too smooth. It could be harder, but it's hard enough for food and wooden or plastic boards. It's currently one of my most-used kitchen knives. This is a German product (I think all current Wusthof is), which tend to be expensive. Also consider some of the Spanish kitchen knives of various brands. I don't like them quite as much, but they are a better overall value.
