Excellent quality, lives up to description
I really like this mug for several reasons.Ive used the same 16oz cup for my chai and tea for many years. It's large and has a thin lip which i prefer - thick ceramic mugs always seem to cause liquid to dribble down my chin :( The only reason I wanted a new cup is because I got a Teaze as a gift (which is great, btw) but the trap bottom sadly isn't large enough to work with my wide-mouth cup. Ive had to steep the tea over a narrower container and pour from that into my cup. Not a huge thing but enough that I looked for an alternate mug.Well, I found the best of both! This cup/mug holds as much as my old favorite, and I can steep right in my cup.I often blend teas sometimes using loose + bag. I made my first cup today with Irish Breakfast bag and Earl Grey loose. No tea leaves escaped the strainer. Yea!🤗The strainer has a very fine mesh and it occurred to me when I made my chai today, if I put my spice mix in with my loose tea, I might not end up with a pool of spices when I take the last sip. 😁 ima try it and report back.The "quilted" embossed design is contemporary and attractive. Color is gorgeous. The seller photo looks lighter and more aqua. The dark blue was too dark for my taste and although I really wanted a more teal color, I chose this anyway. Well, much to me delight, this cup actually is more toward light teal (with more blue than green). It's exactly what I wanted. I hope my photos give you a closer idea of the color vs the seller photo.The lid is a great feature for steeping, keeping liquid hot after steeping, placing the strainer after use, or for holding a spoon. Also for spent tea bag if using one. Lots of handy uses.It was well packed in a proprietary mug box with the strainer sealed in a plastic bag inside. There were no chips or damage.The mug is dishwasher safe. However, i'm not sure about putting the strainer in the dishwasher. My one concern is the construction of the strainer and metal. The seam looks like it could come apart without care so I intend to hand wash that part. I like that it has a high billed lip on the strainer so i don't overfill.Think i covered everything. I'm very impressed and expect to get many years of joyful use from my new favorite mug!
