Great value, and you really can microwave these

I purchased this 9 pack set for $26. This is a great price for the quality. The containers are made of S. Steel 304, and feel generally sturdy, not thin or bendable. I've started to use SSteel food storage, and the amazing 'miracle' is that you can microwave with SSteel if it is very smooth and is continuous, no open edges (A fork is the opposite, the tines produce all that sparking, same with aluminum foil). So, you can store in frig, and then microwave food in the same container, and no sparks. I would not generally microwave these for long time, but great for reheating foods at work etc.The lids are not snap on, but generally if you follow the directions shown in the video, you shouldn't have many leaks so I would say ~95% leakproof, depends on user error. You have to press down on that orange button. and then open the seal for breaking pressure to open lids. Sometimes opening lids takes some messing around.I am trying to phase out of plastic storage, BUT glass containers are far too heavy to bring for lunch bags. So I was still using plastic. But these SSteel containers really solve that problem, they are similar weight to plastic containers but less health issues to worry about. And these are easy to clean and do not stain like plastic containers can.Get these while they're still on sale promo for $26. Sometimes these individual containers can be $10 for larger 50oz 1500ml storage (I first saw SSteel 'microwave safe' storage at TJ Maxx and wondered if that could be true!)

Won't melt like plastic and lighter than glass

These work phenomenally. Hot items can be placed in them and they don't melt like plastic would and they are light weight unlike glass containers. That is what makes these ideal for elderly (90+) lady and others. The lids for the larger containers go on easily with just a push and remove easily also. In the description it states the small containers and lids are not leakproof. I do know I've dropped them a couple of times with tomato base sauce in them and the lids stayed on and those 15 seconds on their sides nothing leaked. The biggest size held 2 pounds of cooked premaid meatballs, minus 3 I ate. I put the meatballs fresh from the oven directly into the pan. I have cooked mac and cheese in these pans also a cake in the medium size pan. These pans are thin, not like a normal baking pan so they cool off quickly. I was able to hold the sides of the mac and cheese pan with a towel just under the actual food within a minute of it coming from the toaster oven.Cleaned up great. The pans have a nice rolled edge. I'm not taking the chance to see if they can go into microwave or not. I have bought another set and given to elderly relative and she now uses these in place of plastic and glass storage containers.

Loving These Stainless Steel Food Containers!

These stainless steel containers are especially nice for someone who would prefer to use the oven or a countertop heating appliance to heat food, rather than using the microwave. Given the potential health concerns associated with plastic containers - all of which eventually degrade - it’s nice to have a set of food grade, durable alternatives to plastic.According to the product description, these containers are “microwave safe”. I researched and learned that some stainless steel can be used in some microwaves, depending on its specs. However, I never use metals in the microwave so cannot validate this claim.Each container comes with a lid that fits securely. The smallest containers have colorful rubber lids, while the other containers have transparent hard plastic lids. The double-compartment container is similar to a bento box, deep enough to be perfect for portion-control meal prep.Since I love cooking in stainless steel pots, I was very happy to get the opportunity to try out this set as well. I’ve already used and dishwasher-cleaned these containers several times, and they still look “good-as-new”. These are definitely a great find!
