Solid Manual Grinder with Smooth Operation
I received the Zaks Coffee Manual Coffee Grinder through the Amazon Vine program and have been using it daily for three weeks. What I Liked:The stainless steel burr mechanism is impressively smooth and consistent across the 11 adjustable grind settings, working well for pour-over, French press, and moka pot. It's remarkably quiet—I can grind beans at 5:30 AM without waking my partner. Grinding takes 60-90 seconds for two cups, and the ergonomic handle is comfortable. The build quality feels premium with a glass catch jar for visibility, and it's genuinely portable for camping or travel.Room for Improvement:The finest settings don't quite achieve true espresso-level fineness. The capacity is limited to 20-25 grams of beans, requiring multiple batches for crowds. A rubberized grip would improve comfort.Bottom Line:A well-constructed manual grinder excelling at quiet operation and consistent grinding across most brew methods. An excellent choice for home brewing, travel, or anyone seeking a peaceful morning coffee routine.

Nice grinder for spices! Remember to push in the grind dial to set it.
So I don't drink coffee but I've seen a lot of people recommending using a coffee grinder for grinding spices of various kinds like pepper, cinnamon and other things you want to reduce down to a powder. Coffee grinders are good when you want to grind a lot of a spice as they are usually larger than things like a pepper mill. This grinder has a crank that comes off easily, making it easier to store, and includes a cloth bag to put it in. It also has a cup on the bottom that catches whatever you're grinding and the cup has a window on the side that lets you see how much you have ground.I have been using this to grind up cinnamon sticks, you do have to break the stick up a bit by hand first, but the grinder then handles it really well. It doesn't produce the super-fine baby powder like grinds you sometimes get from packaged spices but it comes fairly close. Also it is very smooth to turn and doesn't require much effort, at least with cinnamon sticks. It was so easy I had a hard time telling when all the cinnamon was ground up. This is probably because the handle is much longer than a typical pepper grinder. It should work fine for other spices as long as they are dry, fresh picked spices might be wet enough to gum up the insides of the grinder.A lot of reviewers have complained that the construction is flimsy, so far I don't think so. The thinnest metal is the cap on top of the grinder. The body of the grinder feels quite solid to me and the bottom "cup", while thin, is not something you could easily crush with your hand, it would take work! Now of course, if you drop the thing you could probably dent it, but in normal use I don't think it's flimsy at all.I did have a problem when I first got it that the grind settings dial was very hard to turn and almost nothing was coming out. I talked with the manufacturer and they suggested pushing in on the grind setting dial and turning it. This seemed to do the trick as after I tried it the dial became easy to turn and things were coming out easily. So when you first get it remember to push in the dial while turning! Now that the above problem is solved I'm happy with this grinder.

Great manual coffee grinder with a few flaws that keep it from perfection
This is a great addition to our bougie car camping kit. He normally make espresso at home, and have found a moka pot to be a suitable replacement for making high-quality coffee that is a suitable replacement for our regular espressos. However, there's been one area of room for improvement -- our coffee grinder was not portable, so we had to pre-grind our beans before heading out on a trip, which definitely degraded the quality somewhat and accelerated oxidation compared to using fresh-ground beans.Enter this manual coffee grinder -- It's nice and compact, and relatively lightweight, so makes a simple addition to our camp kit. It grinds beans perfectly and consistently, and is easy to adjust to get just the level of grind you're looking for. There are a couple areas for improvement, depending on your needs: first, while the body of the grinder is nicely brushed stainless steel, the handle is stamped mild steel with rough edges and does not look anywhere near the quality of the rest of the grinder, and really detracts from the appearance/feeling of quality of the whole unit.Second, the lower portion of the grinder that catches the ground coffee is made of exceptionally thin material, and is super delicate. It would be VERY easy to damage if not handled with care at all times. Particularly when it's removed from the upper grinder section, and it loses any support at the rim. For this reason, this grinder will have to live in it's original shipping box at all times in order to keep it protected, and I anticipate it will only last a season or two or until whenever the first "oops" happens.
